Is there a need for a NEW Stealth Black Hawk ?

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Sep 27, 2012 6:19 am

He Guys,

This will probably never happen but would there be a need for the new Stealth BH ?

Although there are no pics of the real thing but there is the artist's rendition of it.

This could be made from the pics but is it a risk no real pics of it.

Would anybody be interested ?

Price would be kind of high $350 +

Considering that the new BH are selling for $170 .

Any interest ?

For my purposes, I'd have to admit that there is little interest on my part. Too many variables between an artist's rendition and the real thing for accuracy. Plus the fact that the stealth helo is devoid of alot of the bits and parts that give the blackhawk character that appeals to people like me. Sorry dude, but I think this one would be a headache to make and not very appealing to modelers in general.

i'm interested but not in a guess work version based on the speculation of artists. We'll see the real bird one day and then i would imagine BBI will be all over it.

I would be interested, but only after the real one is unvieled. In the mean time, the Vietnam Cobra or an OH-6A would be great...

What about a OH-6A? Small, cheaper, and much easier to make...

I would be cool to see you make a 1/18 scale B-29

mh-6 and oh-6 are quite different in detail, although similar in overall appearance. MH6 has 5 rotor blades vs 4 for the OH6, plus a bunch of other small changes, like the shape of the tail.

Why not a serie of Vietnam war time, with a first version of the Cayuse, Cobra and Kiowa. We have the soldiers, Huey, Mutt jeeps and tanks from this period. On the base of the existing BBI and 21st models? The Kiowa is very closed to the Bell 206, more simple than the BBI Kiowa Warrior, only 2 blades main rotor but a cabin where to house 2 passengers and a minigun on the left side (a lot of work, or not? the RC manufacturers have made severall polystyrene fuselages for the 206, I saw one in the 400mm range very close to 1/18 in a german eBay store) . The Cayuse would need "only" a new tail and a 4 blade main rotor. And, PH, you've allready studied the plan for a single engine Cobra, did'nt you?

What I would give for a 1/18 B-29...... I actually looked around to see if there was a good RC one to convert, and hardly any exist, and they are all balsa kits.

How 'bout a Vietnam UH-1D? I'd love to have one of those, full of troops, flying my ceiling!

I have already ran a post on the Viet Cobra and the interest was so-so.

When I ran it , there was more interest in a Hind rather than the Viet cobra.

But someday it will be done.

There does not seem to be a lot of interest in the stealth but there is no true pics of it rather than the shot off tail.

But it would be cool none the less.

I'm in for the HIND regardless of cost, I've wanted that bird since I first became interested in 1:18. That in my opinion is the sickest bird hands down.
