4 For Victory Noseart Panel

Post by vmf214 » Fri Aug 17, 2012 9:17 am

Has anyone ever seen one of these offered for sale? I heard a rumor a couple years ago that one of the guys sold their's and my son is debating on selling his.

For those unfamiliar with these there were 10 panels done back around 2004 timeframe for the 4 for Victory contest which entailed buying 4 1/18 Fw-190D's from Walmart to help rid their shelves of overstock, send in the receipts and get on the list for the Tender Terror P-51D. The guys with the most purchases automatically got a panel as a prize and the remaining panels were given away via a drawing that our own tko and Roy Sutherland did. The panels were done up by Roy Sutherland as well.

The panels were done up depicting the Fw-190D 'Red 3' complete with bullet holes. Pretty neat really and each one was numbered. A nice bit of 21stCT history.

thnx

......... can't say that I have and was never really impressed about it much. I was always under the impression that it was (supposed) to be a panel section taken from a (real) downed German AC but I guess not .

The plane goes with btw and still have the original box for it.

PM with any interest. Really don't know what to ask and I really hate the whole offer thing but really don't know how else to do it on such a limited item. Figured would give forum members first crack before we try evilbay. My son is looking to sell it to finance some of his latest collecting whims..

Panel measures 12x13 in.

Pretty cool, and a very rare piece from 21 Century.

No idea what it would be worth?

Boy Jack your guess is as good as mine. Stuff like this is more of a niche/hardcore collector kinda thing me thinks so who knows.

FYI:
I purchased custom made nose art panels, larger than the one you have, of the Kepford and Pappy Boyington Corsairs from an artist in Virginia who specializes in this type of work. I then paid something like 150.00 each, and are a bit larger then the one you have. Hope this helps.

Not really the same thing considering only 10 were made and are an original 21stCT item. He's not looking to get rich off the thing but not gonna let him give it away either. Actually he and I both recv'd one and have the paperwork to back it up. Mine is still wrapped up and think I'll take his for a display for my shop.
