Because the 1:18 world clearly needed two Schmallturm kits! Kidding of course. Pickle and I talk fairly frequently. A couple months ago he mentioned he had a Panther II commission project and I then mentioned that I was working on a Panther II kit. It seemed logical to use the one I already had so that he only needed to do the wheels. The timing was going to be tight because his project had a deadline. As anyone following the Panther II thread knows, the timing obviously didn't work out and he had to scratch build it old school. So now we have two turrets. Who'd have thunk it..
The kit comes with 8 parts. Turret, MG42 with mount, rear hatch, 2 hinges, commander hatch, gunner hatch and main gun.
All of the hatches operate including the rear one. The main gun is static. The turret attaches easily onto a 21st Century Panther chassis. Everything snaps together (no glue).

I've never seen a version of the turret with a gunners hatch. Very interesting. Is this up for sale?

This Panther II is configured totally different than mine.
It does look great
If only it could of come out in a timely manner.

Yup, timing is everything. Thanks to those of you that pointed out some of the flaws. I'll take care of those before putting it for sale. For anyone looking at buying one, this will probably be around $120 when finished due to the cubic volume of material and won't include the wheels so Pickle's is the better bet. I realize this looks like competition, but that wasn't the intention. We're both just trying to deliver the best 1:18 lineup possible for you and there will be hiccups.

It is finished it. I'll post a picture of the updated turret as soon as I have a moment to take a good one.
