I have a 1/18 scale 88 gun and it is as big as a 1/18 scale tank.
I am assuming that this will be as big as a 1/6 tank. And the amount of small and big parts that will have to be made is huge.
The size of this thing, amount of resin and amount of parts all points that the Kit will have to sell for more than a 1/18 scale resin tank.
Still i think this will always be a huge seller because the popularity of the 88 gun and the fact that no one else makes them in this scale. It is the biggest 1/6 gun i have seen and people who collect 1/6 dragon and DID Germans will want this.
If I had two grand that I could allocate towards this I would!! I would sell the 88mm in 1/6 for $450 a piece - Built and painted!! I figure about $100-$150 in resin or less right? The thing about the 88mm that is hard is all the little parts but in 1/6 those little parts aren't so little!! :D Easy!!! cast it all and approx $300 in profit per gun sold... After 7 guns sold it would all be profit... I would guesstimate that there are at least 100+ collectors of 1/6 scale that would pay the $450....

I would have to agree with Jnewboy, at a price point of 450.00, they would sell, as stated in 1/6 that would be one large model 8)

So, while you all focus on that flak, I'll snatch the M36. lol I hope so at least.

Maybe it will go down to $118.00 again and i will bid.
Seriously, this armor piece and the 1/6 scale 88 gun deserve to be bought by someone who can cast them, otherwise is not worth for a private collector to pay so much.

The M36 close for $664.00!! :o Not even half of what the King tiger prototype sold.
WOW!! this prices make me realize that Pickel's M-10 and Tiger II are worth every penny.

$664 for an unpainted proto is verging on nuts in my book.

Unless you are coping the proto to make some of your own to sell, then there is a method to the madness.

I have a feeling somebody got into a bidding war and didn't intend to bid that high. You just never know.

Yea if it wasn't somebody here that can work with PH or somebody else to replicate this it is a total waste of a nice M36 antitank prototype :(
Maybe Matthew got it we haven't heard from him after the auction end.

Not me. I can look and see that a few things are not accurate.

As I said before I will make one .

The m-36 turret can be used on a Sherman turret as well as my M-10 hull. So essentially I am half way there now without spending over $600
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller
