I agree with Fergie. Only one pic? Auction says tracks removed. Does that mean that they are included or that they don't exist? Any documentation to prove 21C is involved? besides a handwritten shipping tag? Is this plastic? Resin?

Money would be good but with little detail and high shipping on this little known model (little known to the general public), this would be a real iffy buy.

Could be great, but I'll pass. Thanks Kduck for posting. Alot of 1/6ers missed this listing.

I posted a question on his auction to see how he came across this item.

I agree as well. For that kind of money there should have been more pictures. Looking at the pic that is included you can see the tracks next to the tank. You can't see the road wheels though so there's no telling if they are included. He's listed the tank twice previously. He started at $1000 and the second listing was $750 with no takers. For what he's asking now though it's quite possibly worth it (considering what 1:6 tanks sell for) if it's well made and everything is included except the front fender piece mentioned. It's out of my price range though. He does currently have a single bid so someone thinks it's worth it.

2 bidders now. If the guy said how heavy it is, I'd bid. If it is very heavy, it is resin and would never survive the crosscounty shipping to me, based on past experience. Too bad, looks like it is a neat piece.

I'd agree with kduck - the price is more worth it at the $560 level it was at when I made this post. Thats pretty much an average price for 1:6 tanks. I'm would be tempted to go for it (I've always liked the Panzer 38T and my Dragon Rudi figure needs a tank to go in) but there is just something strange about the auction. I'll pass on it.

I asked:
Dear marshall1146,

I am curious how you came across this item?
I am a collector of 21st Century Toys items, but have never heard of this one.
Appreciate your time.

He responded with:
Dear mass-trek_enterprises,

warehouse buy with many one of a kind items

I agree with you guys, if I had a 500.00 item I would be showing more pics than one.
I wonder why 21stC never released it?

That response Razor posts makes even more questions.... More one of a kind prototype?????

I have a 21C prototype that bothers me. It is 1/6 Scout Car that was supposed to be Gen. Patton's personal Scout Car. I do not doubt that it is legit as a 21 proto for a few reasons:
1 - I bought it from the cat lady who sold the 1/18 KT prototype.
2 - The bumper lettering is professional not added decals.
3 - The box itself is rare, it shows a Scout Car with rear seats which 21C never included.

It has Patton's air horns but anybody can add them. I have two or three air horns sets from 21C Command Cars myself, kicking around.

What bothers me is the real 1/1 Scout Car that Patton used had a partial armored roof, command radios and 3 .50 cal guns. So do I make these corrections? Keep the prototype as it came from 21C? or just sell it?

Prototypes sometimes cause more trouble than they are worth.

I remember talking to Rose I think her name was. She answered the phone back in the day for the fan club for 21st.

There was rumor of them doing a 1/6th panzer. I asked her about it.

She laughed and said let us see how the Stuart sells. If it does good 21st will make the panzer.

I guess she was telling the truth. I am sure that if they did make the panzer run it would have sold for about $150-$175.

Man oh man I sure wished that Wal mart would not have screwed over 21st.

One can only imagine the possibilities.

What about this airplane the George Bush Avenger proto. No picture yet, but one should come. I bought a P-47 from her a short time ago and the name of the recipient on the PayPal funds was ALGO.......

Somebody sure made a killing on a storage facility clean out.

We all heard about the 1/6 Panzer to do battle with our Stuarts, but most of us thought it would be a PzII or PzIII. Wow.

The George Bush Avenger will bring some real money, that's for sure.

Sounds like someone lost their shirt on those two repaint planes All-go released and is having to sell off a precious few remnants of 21C's last vault in order to stay afloat.

Razor
Very cool stuff. 21c was based in San Leandro, CA (according to what was listed on their product boxes) which is about 10 miles from Oakland, so pretty much the same place.

Would love to get my hands on the Bush Avenger, something I always regret 21c never made. Had they opened the Avenger line with that plane (as opposed to the obscure Atlantic version) the Avenger may have sold better. Heck, there were even some articles in the media about 21c making that model and the figure that looks like a young Bush Sr. Never understood the logic of 21c...

Interesting developments. A few 1/6ers that now own a Callanta 38T and in looking at the pic of this alleged 21C prototype are saying that there are errors in the Callanta 38T that have been repeated in this 21C auction.

That means two things may have happened:
Either this seller is selling a Callanta as a proto 21C or 21C bought a Calanta 38T to copy it.

Either way, the buyer has got a good deal because Callanta makes good tanks for way over a grand. Callanta is a Philippine outfit that has been around for many years.

If that info had been around, alot more buyers would have bid, including this bear. 8)

BTW - I asked this seller to post pics of the Bush Avenger and he answered "Coming soon".

Avenger pics up now. All you see the "Barbara III". Can't see any group numbers. From these crappy pics, certinally not worth big bucks.

He also has an Air America Huey up for $125 to start.

This guy is paying for his retirement on 21C. Good luck. Let's see if he brings out the 1/6 German staff car that hasn't been seen since 21C published a pic or the other 1/18 protos that are missing.

This issue was also brought up on the OSW forum. One member had this to say about the assertion that it's a Callanta 38t:

"It's not. I used to sell the 38(t) for Mardon back in the day and I see too many subtle differences in detail between this one and his. Secondly, Mardon packed his tanks in a lighter wooden skeleton frame with a carboard outer shell, not a full blown crate."

This seller has sold many hard to find and rare 21st century stuff so likely all his stuff is legit. I thought he was some ex employee with all the stuff he has sold the last couple years not a warehouse find. He has had many of the tender terror shells.
