The Hun aka GI Woofer MIA No more

Post by pickelhaube » Mon Apr 09, 2012 11:17 am

Hey Guys,

A few of you all have been asking me were is the Hun ?

Kind of a long story.

A few years ago for some reason he got his feathers ruffled on this forum and then slid over to the Fighting 1/18th.

I have had my feathers ruffled on the Fighting 1/18th and came back home.

Well for a while now he has been AWOL and I nor anybody have been able to get hold of him.

All of his numbers have been disconnected and he has not retured e-mails and now his Custom Page is down.

A few months back he did send me an e-mail saying that he suffered an heart attack. I e-mailed him several times back with no response.

Last week I had had enough and was wondering what has happened to my friend.

So I called his daddy up to see what is up. I have met his dad on 2 occasions but he did not remember me. So I asked him to tell Everett to PLEASE CALL me.

He did !!

The Woofer suffered a minor heart attack then suffered a mild stroke after that.

On top of that he had some serious personal problems with one of the members of his family.

He was almost confined to a wheel chair but is way better now and getting around. I now have his " new " number and have promised to keep tabs on him every week.

Several guys health's are not doing so good on this and other forums.

This puts a lot of things in perspective and hopefully our love of the hobby makes our life that much more simpler and easier.

Be strong Everett.

Matthew

The Hun did a beautiful Vietnam Era M113 a few years back that was an inspiration to me to do a Desert Storm Era M113. Mine wasn't quite in the same league as his, but he gave me a nice compliment on it nonetheless, which made me feel pretty good coming from him.
Best of Wishes, Everett!

i'd been wondering where he was. I did see a custom of his listed on ebay a week or two ago but otherwise hadn't seen anything and noticed his website hadn't been updated. I guess this all explains why.

I wish him well and hope things continue to improve in his life. He's a very talented guy.

i guess as the collective membership of this forum ages, health problems are inevitabley going to arise. Something i hadn't really thought of until the past couple of years.

I spoke with him once on the phone on a deal with him and he seemed like a very nice guy and was alright with me.

I do wish him a speedy recovery and that he may return to what he loves doing. I know all about set backs in life and hopefully he will overcome this.

The first time i found his website,i spend hours looking at his customs.
Before that i did not even know that the figures and vehicles can be improve in such a way.By looking at his complete dioramas i learn a lot.I try to get in touch at one time to get a few kits and never got a answer. Now i know why.
I wish him a well and i hope he get back at what he loves doing most.

Hope you feel better real soon Everett. Everett is a great gentleman and it was always great to get to speak to him about customs over the years. The Hun's customs are just fantastic. I have always been proud and privileged to add the ones I have gotten to my collection.

He did an amazing job of customing an M113 for me a few years ago. Really spiced up my Vietnam collection. I wish you well, Everett!

I feel honored to own a few of Everett's custom pieces. He has done some some incredible work over the years. I have added to his inbox over the past few months and was wondering why he wasn't returning messages. Thanks for the update PH.

Yes there is. Fighting118th They cover the whole gambit over there. Modern, WW2, GI Joe and other misc. stuff, there are also sometimes discussions about stuff that can have nothing to do with toys and figures. - I belong to that board as well and I can say there is a great bunch of guys over there, just like we have on here; some of them are pretty funny with the stuff they say too.

The WooferCustoms website is back!
I hope Everett will get back soon to make resin kits.
I need at least 3 different kits to add to my tank collection.

I have been trying to look at the WooferCustoms website but it has been down since 3/19/2013. I hope Everett is doing well and there are no problems for him and his family.
