Post by Light.Inf.Scout » Thu Mar 08, 2012 9:35 am

Hey guys....hoping someone on here knows...what is the first issue D Day P38 called? Is it just the D Day version or is it known as the Samantha Peyton, Miss Haekela(sp?) etc? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it was the generic version of "Wine Women and Song" (no nose art) released at TRU.

Correct, its always been described as the D-Day version (due to the invasion stripes). But as previously noted, the actual aircraft was called "Les Femme, Les Vin, et les Chansons" (Wine, Women, and Song) and had the noseart with the kill markings, bomb runs and the naked girl in the wine glass. As it was initially a Toys R Us exclusive, its understandable why the risque noseart was left off

Jackson had a great set of decals for the noseart and they used to be for sale at Badcat.
