Re: Hetzer!
* Sweet ! ! ! That's pretty cool. It's about time I guess. Neat little movie too.
........ You think $250.00 is a little too high for a kit like this ? ... or should we wait on a Tamiya R/C Fully Optional one ?

Re: Hetzer!
It would be a good price if the model was actually being printed one at a time (so to speak). It's hard to tell from the post if it was simply designed in 3D and then re-produced with injection molding or what.
If they are 3D printing them, they would have to be able to do this in 1:18 as well. It's very easy to rescale the file and then hit the print button again.

Re: Hetzer!
I think it is made out of resin. If that is the case, that explain the price.resin is expensive and the parts will have to be hand made.It includes decals and photo-etched parts. Many 1/16 tanks also don't include optional early and late option parts.
I think because the Hetzer was not a very large tank it may not dwarf the 1/18 tanks when display side by side.I will like to see a picture of that Hetzer next to the 1/18 Tiger. My guess is that considering a real Hetzer is smaller than the Tiger they would look about the same size.Have anybody on this forum have one to compare the sizes?

Re: Hetzer!
We could compare sizes using smaller-scaled Hetzers and Tigers. The effect would still be the same. I've got 1:32 scale and 1:72 scale examples of both tanks. I also have a 1:35 scale Tiger, which I could sit next to a 1:32 scale Hetzer. That would be a closer visual approximation between a 1:16 and 1:18 vehicle.

The 1/16 Hetzer is 15.28" long
A 1/18 FOV Bravo Tiger 1 is 14" long
No it would not look right next to a 1/18 Tiger
(but it will look very nice next to all my 1/16 armor and support vehicles)

The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

Re: Hetzer!
Here are some shots of a 1:32 21c Hetzer Model next to Tiger I models of differing scales:
Correctly Scaled -- 21c 32x (1:32) Hetzer & FOV 1:32 Tiger I:
Incorrectly Scaled -- 21c 32x (1:32) Hetzer & Dragon 1:35 Tiger I:
The above setup would most closely resemble what a 1:16 Hetzer would look like next to a 1:18 Tiger. The figures on the Tiger are 1:35 scale whereas the figure in the Hetzer is 1:32.

Re: Hetzer!
actually, it would look a bit worse than in tman's pics. The size difference between 1/16 and 1/18 is 12.5%. Between 1/32 and 1/35 is about 9.1%. An extra 3.4% greater difference may not sound like much but it will be noticable for sure.
So if you don't like what you see in tman's pics, you'll hate using a 1/16 hetzer with 1/18 tanks. If you don't mind what you see in tman's pics at all, then you'll probably be ok with a 1/16 hetzer with 1/18 tanks.
if you're on the fence after seeing tman's pics you probably wont' like using a 1/16 hetzer with 1/18 tanks.

Like Aferguson said..it would look a bit worse than in tman's pics
It would look plain goofy
it would not look right next to a 1/18 Tiger or a 1/18 Panther

Re: Hetzer!
......... well , in "tmans" pic ,.. the incorrctly scaled depiction of the 1/35 Tiger I & the 1:32 21st. Hetzer is quite the opposite. It's actually quite correct , as the 21st. Hetzer is actually closer to 1/35 . "Actually". It is a mix/match of both scales.
