I have debated this with some of my buddies.

Almost all of the Jeeps and Kubles are selling for $100 + If you can find them.

So my estimated price will be about $100- $150.

Anything less would probably not be worth doing considering the price of resin and RTV these days.

The frame and glass are one single piece made of clear plastic. The frame is painted in gray.I guess that the only way to make it is in two separate pieces.

Knowing the detail you put in your models and the fact the a Schwimmwagen would be so cool, I feel what your asking is more than fair, please count me in for one :D.

P.S. don't forget that 251 mod, got to love those clam shell doors 8)

The Sdkfz 251 mod will be the first mod after the Horten.

Hey now, if your going to make windsheilds, my second hand Kubel is missing the machinegun and mount and maybe some other parts I'm unaware of, oops, sounds like a 1:18 kubel could be next, I'm sure yours would be heads above the old 21st

Trigger 1 is sending me a copy of his Kubel windshield. ( THANKS !!!!)

Is this what you guys want ?

I can make a cast of the frame laying some pins on the hinge . You can use a pin vise drill to drill the hinge on your Kubel so the window can swing up and down.

I will also supply a piece of clear styrene so you can set it in the frame.

How much would you guys want to pay for this ?

I am thinking $10-$15 how does that sound ?

Jnewboy, unfortunately, the 1/16 Schwimmwagon from Eduard is out of production...sucks because I wanted to pick up a couple more...paid $40.00 for the kit from Great Models about 4 years ago...here are some shots of one...hope they re-release it one day

The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

That's what i need.Your price range is good.specialy now that it is impossible to find this part on ebay.Even if someone list this part on ebay,i know it won't close cheap.
If you are still considering to cast the Kubelwagen, maybe the minichamps version is more worth doing because of the better details like the steering wheel, seats, convertible top, etc.
But please make the Swimwagen before the Kubelwagen.I think because there is already a kubelwagen made, the swimwagen will be more of a priority.

Thats insane, and 1/15 is to big

I had a strange thought, what if you made yours 1/17??

You could market it to both 1/18 collectors and 1/16 collectors 8)

So, have you made a decision yet, is the Schwimmwagen going to be the next full build?

If it is, please put me down for one and let me know if you need a deposit or prepaided, thanks.

Hey Ram,

Yes I do believe I will make it. But after a long list of mods. Money is tight everywhere so the less expensive mods is the name of the game for now.

List of upcoming mods AFTER THE HORTEN

Sdkfz 251 backdate
Panzer Skirts
Panther skirts
Sherman Jumbo
Sherman Composite
Tulip rocket package for Firefly
Sherman track duckbills

I wanted to do the White Scout Car conversion but there did not seem to be a lot of interest.

This could be the Year of the Dragon but according to my calendar it is the year of the Cat.

After the Horten, I will be starting the Tiger II a little at a time in between other projects.

The Horten has taken way too much time and all other projects are on hold until it runs it's course.

So you guys YOUR CHANCES OF HAVING A TIGER II THIS YEAR WILL BECOME A REALITY !!!!!!!!

The Schimm will probably lead up to the T II .
