Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Don't worry I'll post pictures as soon as it shows up , I had that happen to me back in "04", bought a new Suzuki atv and had to wait as they slowly made it across the country to get to my dealer , but it was worth the wait

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Problems, problems, problems.... Fedex tracking shows nothing past arriving at the City of Industry, CA on 1/13. Now Fedex is investigating and will let me know something tomorrow. Ballsup...
So no Sherman tomorrow for this guy. Probably sitting on a loading dock in Anchorage, AK, waiting for me to pick it up.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
I'm still waiting too, got home from work this morning and Fedex called with a recording stating that my package was on the truck to be delivered, we live in a rural area and I have no idea what time they will deliver, but at least I have a delivery confirmation.
Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Just got here this thing is big , looks like some assembly required, but it will have to wait till tomorrow morning now ( working midnights, got to get some sleep ) anyway heres what it looks like fresh out of the box, I'll post some more pictures tomorrow.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Three points to remember.
1 - Take you time assembling, rush and things snap.
2 - Slowly assemble the tracks. DML has included extra links in case you break one.
3 - I am told the hardest part of the assembly is fitting the bottom hull with the tops hull with the included screws. Some holes do not easily match up.
With all these parts, how is DML ever going to make a cheaper kit? I think, this version is the kit?

You're right, TTT.
Worried now! I hope they make a kit.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Okay got a late start this morning on this, first off for a prebuilt model I would have to disagree, other than the boogies and some main hull pieces I don't see that much, of course its painted, so thats a plus.
Pretty straight forward build except the upper to lower hull fit, this part totally sucks , the alignment is horrible, the front of the hull would not line up, I tried several times working front to back, back to front, in fact I spent more time on this than any other part of the build , I know others have had this same problem, but for what this cost this should not be a problem.
Now that I have my gripes out of the way, this is really a nice model, I need to put the tracks together and add the small parts on the hull and it will be done, heres where I'm at now.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Great looking tank.
BTW - I got mine today, right as scheduled, despite the Fedex website showing it still in LA. Packing with these foam "straps" are so much better than using peanuts, cleanup is 30 seconds.
Some real life thingees have occuppied me today and will tomorrow and Friday, and housequests Saturday, so won't be able to play with the Shermie before Sunday. I waited a long time for it so a few days wait is icing on the cake.
When I get it together, I'll post some comparison pics with the Sherman next to a 21C Stuart. Alot of our guys have a Stuart so they will appreciate the comparison.
I love the tank and wish to thank AMERICAN_GRENDIER for a great deal on his pre-order price and just a great item. THANKS Bob....

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Lets just say that the price including shipping was a pre-order price that nobody will see as low again. This entire board was offered the same price so no private deals were involved.
What I am saying is that the price we paid is kind of like the TRU closeout prices we paid for 21C stuff. It does not help you to know that I found 21C 1/18 Command Cars for $2.50 each and cleared off a whole shelf. Nice to know but you will not find that price now.
Prices now are a little under $600 up to $750. Those prices will not last as this Sherman will sell out.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Got a chance to finish putting this together this afternoon, first off, I really don't consider this a so called pre-built model, there are not alot of parts to build, but enough that in my opinion its not pre-built, 158 tracks with 316 links, made my fingers sore , also I had a few parts actually broken in the bags , nothing I could not glue back, but still disappointing.
Again, this is a great model, just want anyone considering getting it, it is not a take out of the box and display model, not that anyone with even the most basic skills could'nt build it, just want everyone understand what you see in the advertisement is not how it arrives .
To the guys building the Panzer kit, my hats off to you, please keep us posted on your progress, as myself, I am still planning on getting that kit

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
A couple of pictures finished.
Needs markings real bad, they should have at least put generic markings on it.

Re: 1/6 DML Sherman
Very nice. Every time I pass mine, I hear little cries like, "assemble me please", coming from the pile of parts.... I have to answer.... Soon, just be patient.....

Somehow I missed the post that offered us a good preorder deal, do you think this same seller might offer the new (reissued) Hot Toys 1/6 scale Batman Tumbler? Im going to get one this time around and trying to find the best price.
thanks!
