not as good as last year's releases but still some interesting stuff. Getting a bit fanciful with the hyena and rhino though.

I hadn't really considered Schleich until this past month, Amazon had the Castle on sale for 90.00 so I bought it and it was great so I wound up buying all of the knights on horses as well. I figured hey, they are about 1:18 and have to do with war so I could justify them in my 1:18 collection :-D. I will probably add these as well ;-)

if you like the schleich knights you should get some of the BBI knights. They are much nicer and have a decent variety.

I like these new schleich heroes but the unreal fantasy turn they have taken with them is putting me off a bit...i would have preferred more historically accurate stuff but you take what you can get and they are well done figures. The viking and egyptian are top of my list.

Anyone who likes gladiators should be happy with these new schleichs. BBI makes a couple of really nice gladiators as well, and papo makes one good one too.

not sure if anyone will be interested in this but i just bought a working model of a Trebuchet to go with my 1/18 knights. It comes as a kit, of about 40 wooden pieces. It's a decent size when built about 18 inches long and 10 inches high, and as i said it actually works, which is kinda cool.

With some weathering and other simple modelling techniques i think it can look pretty realistic. Not really 1/18 scale but reasonably close and certainly in scale with schleich castles and accessories.

Anyway, here's the link where to buy the kit. You have to get it from overseas as i couldn't find anywhere in north america that sells them. Total cost was $47 shipped.
