There was never a mold for the B-25, or even a completed prototype.

I don't think there was ever a B25 prototype, just concepts and it never made it to the mold stage. But there were prototypes of other products - the PBR, Vietnam hut, bridge, two story house, RTO etc. and I always wonder what happened to those, both as prototypes and samples if any molds were made. 21st and prototypes was a lot like the Seinfeld bit - 'they know how to take the reservations, they just don't know how to keep the reservations.

Speaking of prototypes and molds, I wonder if bbi still has that P47 prototype/sample that was at a toy show years ago.

The really big planes serve no purpose other than to gather dust in 1/18.

A 1/18 B-25 was a dream and then 21C woke up.

The big multi engine planes, like the Mossie, B-25, B-26, P-61, Me-110 etc, etc, as well as the 4 engine real big planes would be very sizable in 1/32.

I say save 1/18 for fighters and vehicles.

A B-25 in 1:18 would be awesome, but really big.

The wingspan on a 1:32 B-25 would be close to what a 1:18 fighter is.

We can't even get that with some unscrupulous Chinese manufacturer pulling the rug out from under Wingscale's 1:32 B-25 and B-17, which were ready to be finalized, the deal went sour and they lost them to someone else. The details still murky, but a lot of very upset modelers.

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but what would the dimensions of a 1:18 B-25 be, I remember when they started advsrtising this, I kept thinking how would I hide that from the wife

If built it sure would have been the focus point of alot of collections 8)

Wow! What scale are those? Are they the same scale as the Apache Princess B-25?

Hey RJDMcCarthy,

This B-25 is foam but you cant tell when it is finished. It really looks like a model when it is completed. Its the best thing out there for a B-25 in our scale.

CW's b-25 is made by Flying Styro and is the closest to 1/18 available. It's about 1/17. All others available are larger in scale, most around 1/15 or bigger. They all look great and require very little skill to build them as they come prepainted. The foamy texture is really not a big deal. You quickly get used to it and from 5 feet away or more, it's invisible.

There's also a beautiful b-17 available by Freewing which is about 1/19 scale:

Comes in silver too...
