New BBI online store coming soon.

Post by CW4USARMY » Tue Dec 20, 2011 6:43 pm

BBI Facebook page says they will be opening a new on line store "specially" for elite force products.
Would be nice of this means we could expect new products to sell there.

well maybe we can. They're obviously getting back in the game in a significant way with all the repaints, the re-do blackhawk and now the store. It can only be a matter of time til new products appear.

This is good news and I'm glad their modern stuff is helping them get back into the game. That being said WWII for the win!

New 1/18 BBI stuff would be awesome. Modern, WWII, whatever...I'll take what I can get. Though, it would be nice to finally see BBI's take on Germans.

I hope it works out for them, even though it won't.

I think this is great news for the 1/18 world.
The Blackhawk redo is not for me but I quickly snapped up the new(ish) Bf-109-G2.
Maybe this will mean re-releases of their older stuff, AH-64 Apache here I come.! 8)

If BBI were to make 1:18 WWII Germans, I would say they'd be the best on the market!

Great news. Cut out the middle-man. Brick and mortar is becoming a thing of the past and only adds unecessary cost to hobby products like these. Also gone are the PC restrictions and box dimensions that have been an obstacle to great products being readily or ever available. Full support from me.

I really hope after their revival they will lower the prices, $160 for an aircraft that could once be had a a fraction of that price is insane. I remember being 11-ish and seeing the Blackhawks on clearance for $25 at Tagret. I myself went for the LAV25 and Humvees that were $15 :P.

i don't see this as being great news in itself. The good news in this is that BBI is clearly becoming more interested in 1/18, which may lead to an increasing flow of new product from them. Their store prices will be high, as they won't want to compete with their online etailers and shipping costs for you guys in the US will probably be high, as product will be coming from Hong Kong.

That's what I assumed -- that they'd build up some inventory here and use a third-party shipping outfit to manage filling orders. But that will put them into direct competition with established e-tailers.

Seems that the majority of their buyers would come from North America (I could be totally wrong in assuming this). It would make so much more sense for them to establish a distributor here, as to save time and cost on shipping...but, if they're just starting out, maybe it's not financially sound to do that at the go.

There has been no indication as to when this store might open, right?

Yeah, I remember the BBI website from 10 years ago. Nothing more than a seldom-updated showcase. The best way to get new info on upcoming products and prices was to ask the dealers. This would be a big improvement, and it could make sales much easier for them. And yes, hopefully, it could mean more new products.

Do you think they will expand or return to other scales as well?
