CEO of 21st interview

Post by normandy » Wed Sep 14, 2005 8:19 am

Area 21 reports that the CEO of 21st Century Toys has been interviewed by Toy Shop Magazine. The article will be in the Oct. issue on sale 23 Sept'05. This should be good!

Has anyone picked up this issue yet and if so was there any news in it? I've not been able to find a copy myself.

...all the Borders and Barnes & Noble bookstores near me stopped carrying it months ago...apparently I was the only guy buying it...

Got my copy of Oct 14 "Toy Shop" magazine today :D and the interview with 21st CEO James Allen is in an insert (supplement) about Military Toys! Two pages of a 16 page supplement. He said "we have a ton of special projects in the works and many new molds in all our scales. So be patient..." Sound familiar?

Also they asked him what his favorite was among their offerings, he said "it would be our 1:18-scale airplanes." Favorite plane of the line is "the FW 190D-9 and our new P-51 Mustang!" "Or maybe, it is our new TBF Avenger!" He also talks about the new Aviation Legends first release the F4U-1A. And, the 1:6 Stewart and the 1:32 Cold Steel line.

Most of the news we have already heard!
They also noted Dragon, Corgi, and a few other manufactures of military toys in the Supplement!

maybe it isn't nice to talk about military toys in the mainstream press. and the good part of interview is in waste basket.
i've seen stuff like that before.
Tru once said they wouldn't sell toy guns anymore because of pressure from m/s press.
can you say cut off nose to spite face
i think that help put Tru on skids.
Wally World never quit selling toy guns
who makes most money now?

I know TRU lost my dollars when it banned German toys.. I used to go there once a week, now it is once/twice a year, and ONLY if I have to..

I wouldn't expect to hear anything new in this interview, because they have already released most of the BIG news..
