New Bravo Team Modern 1:18 Figures (sort of)

Post by tmanthegreat » Wed Oct 26, 2011 1:56 pm

While out on a road trip today, I stopped by a Target and found they had stocked a new series of Bravo Team figures in new packaging. The new series is called "Danger & Duty." The back of the card shows three distinct lines in the new series: Recon Team (in desert cammo, presumably USMC), Infantry Force (in US Army camo) & Tactical Team(Delta Force, in both US Army digital cammo & 3-color desert cammo). The figures are all the same old toolings, but heads have been swaped & repainted & some have cammo facepaint. There is a new headsculpt with the head wrapped in a scarf/hood with sunglasses. The cammo also seems a darker shade. The store I was at only had the Infantry Force (US Army) figures, which are about the last type that I need any more of, but I picked a couple up, including the one with the new headsculpt & will post pictures later :)

Here are a couple quick pictures.

First, the two figures I purchased:
Image
In the picture you can see the new packaging and darker cammo on the figures. The figure to the right shows the new headsculpt with the hood and sunglasses. I like it. The figure to the left shows the repainted headsculpt and swap. This used to be that Latino-looking guy with the original Bravo Team figures and now he's a Gringo :P

Second, a scan of the back of the figure card to show all the lines in the series:
Image
You can see the head swaps and cammo face paint. The line that has me stoked is the Tactical Team... The hooded guy really looks cool in that line.

Has anyone else seen these?? I've been to a lot of Targets lately and the one where I found these (near Stockton, Ca) was the only one that had them, and then only the Infantry Force figures...

These look cool. You're probably the first in our group to see these since you are on the west coast. I k now when I was living in Virginia, I wouldn't see things for a week or two after they were reported in California.

I like the new head-sculpt. Does the tactical team come with more weapons than the other two lines just like the old Delta and Navy Seal lines? or do they also come with one weapon as well?

Also, has the overall line been striped of all their extra accessories such as boxes, Jerry-cans, etc, or are they still relatively the same as well?

I can't say on the Tactical Team figures. The store where I saw them only had the Infantry Force figures (and the Tactical figures are the ones I'd really like!). I've not seen these anywhere else save for that one Target where I found them, which is not in my area.

I want to say the extra accessories are the same. Pretty much the same thing we've been getting, just repainted, repackaged, and a new headsculpt thrown in. It is new life for the hobby, however 8)

Hey Tman thanks for this update!

I also found something interesting today at a local Target...the woodland camo M1 Abrams which NOW includes a tank commander figure! There is no packaging change except for a sticker that reads "BONUS...With Commander". The figure enclosed is Cpt Drew Masters. He comes standing in a hatch and his bagged helmet is taped on the card next to the machine gun and barrel tube.

Never really understood why Bravo Team couldn't put an OTV with appropriate pouches on all of the figures, nobody ever goes into combat with just that LBV haha. I think it would make the Marines look a lot better, it would be nice if they made them coyote brown instead of woodland because they dropped the woodland gear around 04-05.

Picky rant aside, glad to see they are making new figs, seeing as I missed the first wave.

Yea I have to agree, I do like the woodland look but if they did change the vest colour to a dark tan it would be like the present day marines.

Hope they're still $4.99. GI Joes are $7.99 at Target.
And speaking of Target, I don't see a 'Only at Target' sticker
on the packages....hmmm....

Hi holensock, We received the latest FOV Bravo Team catalogue from our reps at FOV just before their iHobby showing and NOTHING was ever mentioned or printed about the addition of these figures (or naything) to the Bravo Team line. I do know that the powers that be located in Hong Kong work directly with Target Execs and bypass the US based office and therefore many reps stateside have no idea what Target will or does carry.

As for the Exclusives, I suspect they purposely neglected the "Only At Target" print in order to save on transition cards to etailers later. When we were first able to order the WW2 series directly the cards had the exclusive stickers and print. This may have irritated some etailers but our customers were used to seeing this as we had always disclosed our initial offering as "Target Exclusives" and had carried them for about a year ahead of everyone else. Foxhole Toys heavily pushed FOV to release these and the modern series to the online group. We continue to push for the LAV-25 & Spec Ops figures. Either way, we'll continue to sell the entire line whenever we can as there is a strong following...especially amongst the international core and our friends in the US who are unable to acquire the figures locally. (:

Nice Find Tman 8)

Hope these will be available at etailers and not Target exclusives. I've not been able to find the Paratroopers, Seals and Delta lines at reasonable prices with overseas shipping. The "E" word has caused me plenty distress across several toy.. err.. adult collectable lines

Nugget or anybody else,
Could you tell me what colour is "coyote brown"? Here in Switzerland, we have no coyote, I can't compare with any Tamiya paint (help needed). At the swiss army, they have their own abraviations, so thank you to tell me what OTV means.
