Interesting comment... Speculation starts about what Jim knows that the rest of us don't

Hope you're not refering to the Skyworks one
>>> JSI never made one either.

........... Merit & JSI ??? ... i never knew about such affiliation or am I just missing something ?

...... please help to fill me in here.

So the speculation is I guess ,.. an Me 163 "Komet" then , hmm. :?

Interesting....Jim, any updates on a Merit pilot and crew figure for the Dauntless ?

Holy Cow, Holy Cow. Not only does this mean a Komet is coming out, it means it's coming out real soon, otherwise Jim probably wouldn't have spillt the beans as he did.

VERY interesting.

Sounds like Merit is doing an Me 163 Komet. 8)

A smart choice, in my opinion. Small, WWII jet, and German. Been a consistent favourite to be done on this forum.

If it happens, hats off to Merit. :D

i don't think it's Merit. But i think Merit is distributing it, which is why Jim knows of it. It's certainly Pegasus.

However, the overseas buyers are ordering much more qty. this time around.
Good to hear Jim!

Jim, Thank You for your quick response.........I think. :D
I wouldn't think He is referring to skyjerk's 163, after all how many of those were made?
So I guess we'll have to stay tuned.

A 163? I'll pass. The Germans made some great looking aircraft during the war, but that thing is ugly. Looks like a flying almond. I don't see that thing having enough appeal to warrant making it. Dauntless? No brainer. Wildcat? Same. A new tooled Spitfire or FW190A - DUH

>>> I'd say i'd almost have to agree w/ you there. Looks like a flying wingnut ... It is something different though , in the air of 1:18 that is & it's German , so in that respect , it'd be a welcome addition only if it accompanied a Kettenkrad to go w/ it perhaps like when 21st. or Algo proposed to do at one time , as a set.

maybe it will...but if it's by Pegasus i doubt it. Grunt has a kettenkrad.

I think this is cool beans. It's not the looks, it's the history, technology and desperation of the times, that make this such an interesting little plane. It's a Luft '46 plane that actually happened.

I have mixed feelings on the 163 as a 1/18 model. Coincidentally, I'm reading Top Secret Bird, which is a good first-person account of the 163's training program and combat deployment. Honestly, the 1/18 paint scheme will be the deciding factor for me.

It would sit well with the 262B night fighter.

My guess would be dual steering. One for normal towing going forward, the front steering wheel so that the driver can walk in front of the vehicle steering the vehicle going backwards.

Similar to the VN era US Army "Mule". The steering wheel can flip over so the driver can walk or crawl in front of the vehicle while under fire going forwards or backward.

I have drawings of this tug and they are of a simpler version. :D

So will a mass produced 163 be in our future ?

I have been beating that drum for a long time.

well now, back to the Dauntless...from BadCat "Merit's second SBD Dauntless has arrived in port and will get here during the middle of next week."

Great time management Merit! keep up the great work!

I just ordered the Midway version from Diecastaircraftcollectors and used their members discount coupon to get 10% off, so total was right @ $158 and shipping was free. It didn't cost anything to use the coupon.
If anyone wants the coupon code PM me.

That's awesome! Glad to know the Dauntlesses are already out and getting around!

I'm waiting for my preorder to come in, but it will come soon enough. I already have the Coral Sea version and currently have no place to put the new Dauntless (until I'm moved into my new house). Still, great that its out right on time!
