i never thought to compare their F-16 price. I've seen the F-16 over here going for as low as $140-ish, so i'm guessing the Blackhawk will go for $130-ish, which i still consider a bit steep. I wonder how well it will sell at that price.

I called the german distributor today. They said they expect the Nightstalker Helicopter this year. As for the price it is as I expected: they will be about the same price as the new F-16.

Greetings from Germany

Sorry, Aferg - thought you meant the gunner figure that was in the BBI pictures - he looks like the Chopper Harris and no he doesn't have a sand filter face mask.

The pic you posted does look like Howard the Duck though.

Yes, one of the BBI Combat Command action figures has a head sculpt similar to it.

As I suggested earlier, why not buy three more optional pilot figures that come with the MH-60 and use them as the co-pilot and two gunners?

The driver for the BBI Lav's head may work or the altermate POC Dusty head

Good to see that BBi didn't make enough 109s. Maybe that will show them that there is a market still around for 1:18 scale. Bring on the new molds! :D

With optional SEALs and flight crew, we're looking at probably way over $200.

i think this price is pretty stiff and i wonder if it will hurt sales. Really i expected the price to be more like $100 to $120. I was in for one for sure but now i'm having second thoughts.

That is a high price for sure. Guess BBI is taking a cue from the new market where high prices abound, though their prices on the Zero and Bf-109 still are acceptable. I still may get this one, however

Price is probably fixed as a compromise between several factors:
- Probably less units produced than during the 1:18 spring time a few years ago
- Still high prices reached on eBay showing the surviving interest of just anough collectors to make a release
- Taking in account critics against previous releases, making improvement of quality a must
- Despite the general economic crisis, enough people have anough money to spend
> this lift the price
What could make a new product cheaper:
- Low risk with the main production sold as preorders
- Use of only refreshed tooling and just a few new parts
- Cheaper, but solid packaging
A way to encourage a high production (and low price): any internet enthousiast buzz
