They should have released more in the DAK color. Best ever. More DAK. I repaint just about everything I get in DAK colors, which are the best.

Re: Gray PAK 88 1/18 scale is hot or dead
Well the gray 88 was the one most collectors wanted but as we all know the DAK paint scheme 88 came out first.
It will sell........but as of now 21st/AllGo is saying it's a knockoff of their property and asking collectors and sellers to boycott this product. http://www.allgotoys.com/ I don't know if we'll ever find out the truth about this mess but this is the state of 1:18 right now.
There is demand but not much in the way of product if you eliminate all the disputed 1:18.

"New in box never removed".
So it got repainted still in the box? Quite a craftsman that did that...
Unless I'm missing something, these are mere repaints by a dealer in China.
If there is info to the contrary could someone please enlighten me?

So, really whats the big deal?, if I wanted a 88, I would buy it, it seems we worry about where things are coming from and when they are not comming we bitch, get over it, the 1/18 market is scarce, if you want a 88mm buy one, does it matter who produced it?, in the long run its a global economy, just not everyone is playing by the rules yet.

Sorry about my last post, it seems that there is alot of complaining on this subject, I realize that maybe it is not politically correct the way they are being sold, I just hate that one minute we complain that nothings available and the next when it shows up we question it, as far as it seems people are buying them, so its not a scam, just a question on who actually owns the rights to produce them.
Re: Gray PAK 88 1/18 scale is hot or dead
it has been confirmed at least 3 times that these are indeed repaints of the DAK coloured 88's and not newly produced items. The original DAK paint has been seen on the grey versions, in obscure spots. For sure these are repaints.

Yup, a friend of mine bought one and it is absolutely a repaint. Very nice job though and well worth the money imo. Infact it looks better than if 21st had produced it in gray, again just my opinion.aferguson wrote:it has been confirmed at least 3 times that these are indeed repaints of the DAK coloured 88's and not newly produced items. Btw, I'm not complaining about anything if I'm in the group referring ram, personally I could care less where the stuff comes from as long as it "comes" (most things 1/18 promised over the last several years never even breathed hard...).
"New in box never removed" remains a funny thing to say about a repaint.

No, my little rant was not against anyone person, just seems that when something shows up its either a repaint or someones stolen aunt maudes secret mold their using, instead of just buying one, we try to find a reason we shouldn't

I guess if you can buy one, go for it ! I just think for etailers there may be some legal implications involved in the sale of the 88 and the other disputed 1:18 products.
It stinks for everyone.......

It's already been clearly established by at least one person who purchased one that, yes, they are in fact grey repaints of the original tan version, and this confirms information I already had as well.AMERICAN_GRENADIER wrote:i think he was refering to direct from the factory. we all know these arent repaints but new production from china
It doesn't surprise me that a bunch of these were sitting around in China. The tan version of the 88mm gun did not sell very well. It especially did not sell well after 21st Century dumped a bunch of them out of their AZ warehouse through Monkey Depot.
Whatever was left sitting around in China, it was a very bright idea to repaint them grey in order to get them out the door.
