M4a4

Post by flyboy_fx » Wed Aug 03, 2011 7:38 am

So, where where M4a4 shermans used??? I believe that is the model of the 21st/Fov ones right? The only thing I can think of is british sherman Vs where pretty close.

I am converting my FOV sherman to a Brit MKII. I think it is the MKII.

I believe it's a Sherman V. And as far as I know the UK was pretty much the only user of the M4A4, with us using most the M4, M4A1, and M4A3, and the USSR getting most the M4A2s. I am no shermaholic, but I think I am right. Anyone want to verify?

The original 21st Sherman was an M4, not an M4A4. The FOV version, I'm not sure since I've never purchased one.

If you can find one for a decent price, I'd suggest get one. It's actually a very good and historically accurate mold, considering it's one of the first vehicles that 21st produced.

I haven't seen the FOV 1/32 Sherman in awhile but I believe it was an early M4A3 simuler to their 1/18 but with an earlier turret. The M4A3 was only used by US Army.
The 21st iis a M4 again like the 1/18 XD. The British did use the M4. 21st made a British Firefly from their M4.
It would be designated a MK IC

British models and their US counterparts:

Mk I = M4 radial engine
Mk II = M4A1 radial engine
Mk III = M4A2 deisel engine
Mk IV = M4A3 Ford V8
Mk V = M4A4 Chrysler multibank

British Tank main gun:

A = 75mm
B = 76mm
C = 77mm firefky
D = 105mm
