1/18 Trains

Post by Jnewboy » Tue Apr 26, 2011 5:17 pm

I don't know allot trains, I like them and have seen some awesome displays but have never played with them. I was wondering if there was a scale that was even remotely close to 1/18 or 1/16? or am I on my own.... (what else is new)

General Blasto, a member/former was into trains and 1:18th. I think he collected LGB trains which are around 1:22 or so. That brand may be your best bet.

I believe G scale is the closest thing to 1/18 and I think its about 1/20 or 1/24. There are many great buildings in this scale made by Pola and Piko along with endless amounts of accessories.

LGB G Scale trains would probably be the most affordable place to start, at least compared to the Buddy L trains. They are underscale compared to 1:18. Still, even the LGB trains are pricey. If you think the JSI F-14 is expensive, try the cost of an LGB locomotive. They can range from nearly $300 to almost $1000 for the best models. (This is the difference between hand-made in Germany and factory made in China  )

I dont really want to even do it! just a thought of what to do with all my turrets.
I took a hard look at my current inventory and came to grips with reality...

I have over 40 projects in the pipe! I think I spend more time on here and looking for new projects than I do working on them.. This has to stop! I am mentally ill!
