Negative.

The Sherwin Williams paint that people are using is a stain.

Many have used it but my Sherwin Williams said that they can not do it.

Numb skulls .

I left no stone unturned. I even was going to use a company who who could make a precise match and a little cheaper but it would have taken 4 weeks.

I want to be done by then.

Cat,
you can thin the HD paint. Water is good but nature the paint dries quick on the tip of the airbrush making it a pain to use.

the colors are:
RLM 70 Schwarzgrun (blackgreen) model master # 4780

RLM 71 Dunkelgrun (darkgreen) model master # 4781

RLM 65 Hellblau (lightblue) model master # 4778

*Note the model master color names are in German on the bottle, to avoid any confusion
use the RLM # or the model master #.
I can't tell you how many times I've been to the
hobby shop for paint, only to get home with a bottle of what the !@*% color is that ?

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 PreOrder Till Oct 31 ! RTV is Here! Paymen

Painting continues . I will lay down the last camo coat tomorrow ( dark green )

The full builds that are UNPAINTED ARE READY TO SHIP.

OK Guys,

I have my hat in my hand . I know a deal is a deal but I absolutely lost my azz on the full builds.
I know that I lost money making them .

We all know a lot of customizers sell their repaints for $200-$250 for repainting a $70 Xd model.
I low balled myself to $150 extra for a full build/paint.

Each Horten took apprx 40 hours to complete .

So if it is not too much to ask , is it possible for you guys to pay $20-$25 each to cover the shipping ?

I know a deal is a deal and I hope you guys do not think that I am trying to extort more money out of you ,
but I did take a bath on these big time .

I have learned my lesson and I will not make this mistake in the future.

I know that if I originally would have charged the double price , I would have lost out on selling some kits.
But if I was to have done that , at least I WOULD NOT HAVE LOST MONEY MAKING THEM.

Thanks for the understanding and if any of you feel that you do not want to pay the extra.
There will not be any hard feelings.

I mean that . Please let me know by PM-ing me.

Matthew

Looking great Matthew.

That is the best choice of colours, and camo scheme in my opinion, and glad that you went with this one.

YT wrote:Paint looks great, are you leaving those gaps in the wings?

Gaps ?????

You mean the wing joints ?

The wings are removable. So there will be joints.

Believe me the joints are tight and the wings have been smoothed with the main body. This alone took a full week to do

Gaps ? There aint no stinkin' gaps :D :D :D

I hope to ship NEXT WEEK.

THINGS LEFT TO DO.

1. Make and mount the canopies. Frames are done.
2.Mount the insignias
3. Mount engine cones
4. Semi mount landing gear.

The landing bay gear doors will pop in without glue.

I will test fit the gear then separate the hinge pins. Then I WILL MOUNT THE GEAR BLOCKS.

When you guys get the model you will mount the gear then have to slide the pin in the hinge.

I WILL TEST FIT THE GUNS, ANTENNAS ( LONG AND ROUND ) AND PITOT TUBE.

Then I will remove them. THESE WILL NOT TAKE MONKEY HANDED SHIPPERS. THEY WILL BE IN A PLASTIC BAG.

DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The paint matches the Stuka just fine.

I talked this over with TKO wouldn't the Horten look cool with those big tank busting cannons ?

If I were to make one of these for myself , I would mount the cannons and paint it as a Rudel livery

Maybe some day. :?

Ha Ha! the 37mm stuka cannons might be a bit over the top but I would live someone to make a Ruhrstahl X-4 : Air-to-Air missile in 1/18!! I would put two under each wing!! They would also look good on 262's! 8)

Nice job Matthew!!!! Can't wait to see the decals on it.
I wanted the look of the early style crosses on my 229's, but I do like the way Jacksons later style crosses came out on YT's 229.
You think You'll be able to sell any kits at Your local hobby shop?

I did not try but I am sure that there would have been interest.

After these go out and I fill the last 3 late orders , I do believe that the Horten will be retired.

I need to think about that .

So Matthew,

Can you tell us what is the total production run on these?

Kits?

Full builds?

A very limited release to be sure. 8)
