The wings are on! The "glass" has been glued into the canopy and it opens and closes.
Just a bit more sanding and its off to paint.

I have mated all the wings to all of the center sections and almost have all of the parts sanded and filled.

There are close to 1,000 of those parts .
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

Great! Thanks for the update on the full-builds. I was going to post something about what their status was, but you beat me to it. You're really putting forth quite an effort and I can't wait to see how they come out myself. Please keep us posted.

Looks cool!! I like the DAK Ho229! Its alternative history at its finest. (Stalingrad never happens, Moscow falls in Summer 1943 and D-Day is a huge failure and boom! Ho229's flying over Cairo! 8)

I wont be as daring in my paint job, Im just doing Luftwaffe 1946 type scheme, home defense...

Looks great Normandy! What other schemes are people planning on using? I am thinking about something like this:

Learned something today, that big fat wheel that the horton lands on, anyone know where it came from?? I was thinking, man thats a big ass tire! so much rubber when Germany had next to none..... It came off of a crashed B-24!!! The Germans designed it around that wheel as they had a large supply of them from crashes! amazing I thought 8)

As I recall no mention what so never. They did say that the main gears were from a 109.

The big wheel was to give the front more height to raise the angle of attack on approach and also to add weight . She was tail heavy.

As a lot of German woman are. :D :D :D

Just kidding my German XD brothers :D :D :D
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

Is this the book you have Ph?

http://www.warbirdforum.com/shepelev.htm

web site says "Because of the aircraft's low priority, systems were incorporated from elsewhere: the nose wheel assembly on the first two protypes was a He-177 tail wheel; the main landing gear was modified from the Bf-109G; other parts came from a damaged Me-210 and a captured B-24 Liberator bomber. (p.44) "
