Interesting find at Big Lots

Post by flayrah » Wed Oct 06, 2004 7:21 pm

Came across some KO 1:18 figures and sets, I've seen these before in construction and fantasty themes, but this lot included Arctic Exploration and Wilderness sets. Great tents in both themes, plus a "firepit", cooking pots, backpacks, etc. Not necessarily military, but some good kit bashing bits there.

Figures

Post by Morian Miner » Fri Oct 08, 2004 11:19 pm

Bought some of the sets today. They are really improving their figures. The Adventure team figures have better proportioned hands and some even have additional shoulder articulation. The Arctic guys still are a little clunky, but at least some of them have nice sculpts (I'm repaiting one tonight to join the Rebels on Hoth). For the price, you can't beat them.

Find at Big Lots

Some of the Big Lots also have new Soldier Force IV vehicles and weapons. Mostly pretty cheesey, but a few weeks ago I did pick up 1 each of the armored personnel carrier for my son and me. I really want to check out the "heavy combat boat" pictured on the back of the box, but haven't seen any in the stores.

Any pics guys? I'd like to see some of this stuff... Especially the arctic figures and your repaint Morian Miner... I'm intrigued at least. Could be good stuff for customizing.

Ken - yes, I think these are more of the chap mei sets. I've searched for any references on the web, but can't find anything except for a dealer in the UK who has a few of the sets for sale.

Here's some photos. The accesories are scattered through the junkroom, so I only have the figures and the tent.

The arctic dude still needs some boot work, but he looks way better than the neon yellow parka he comes in. Didn't have any light browns to make more Hoth-compatible, but I still like the way he turned out

Thanks for the photos! I noticed in one of the police sets, the motorcycle cops have jointed knees, and someone posted they saw improved arm articulation. Now if they would only make the hands and feet more to scale.

Those remind me of Chap Mei style figures. The first two look like Village People...heheh.

Very cool though, especially the arctic chap.....hope i can find these in my neck of the woods..
