1/18 T-34/85 Orders Shipped !! !!!

Post by pickelhaube » Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:13 pm

So the toy show was a bust. Fear not a new piece of armor is right around the corner.

I have started on the 85. I have the turret roughed in and should be able to post some pics of it on Thurs.

Here is a 1/16 to wet your whistle

Not to much to show for 3 days of work. But I have split the turret added weld beads and covered it with texture / casting.

This is all that I can do for a few days to come.

I have to do a days work with my regular job tomorrow. ONE DAY IN TWO MONTHS :?

Then I need to get caught up on a bunch of orders , they are starting to stack up.

Give me your opinion on the weld beads.I think they look right. Or are they a little big ? It is hard to judge when you are putting them on with intention of covering them with texture. Too small they disapear. Too big and they are just that.

Pics.

I have been busy filling orders latley and have not had a chance to do any more work on this.

I have been asked what kind of 85 I am making.

According to the Squadron Signal T-34 in action book.
I am building a

T-34-85 Model 1944
( ' flattened ' turret 1944 production )

Also the flat top's fenders should be rounded like on the /76. I was going to do the angled front fenders but the round are correct.

So any feed back on this ? For you guys who are getting the /85 which fenders do you want rounded or angled ?

The angled fenders would look better but since the round are correct, I would go with them.

i believe both fenders are correct....the flat ones came later in production. If you look at random pics of t-34/85's on the internet, you'll see some have rounded, while the majority have the square fenders. I believe all post war had the square fender, which is why you see so many pics of actual tanks with them.

I don't know exactly when/how the transition came from rounded to square...it could even be a case of different factories producing the different styles.

OK the angled fenders it will be !!

I have a lot of loyal customers who have bought pretty much everything that I have made. Thank you all !!!!

The T-34 project has been VERY EXPENSIVE. To you all and for me to build.

So for all of you loyal guys I will be offering the T-34/85 at $275.

So for you guys who have gotten my T-34/76 I will be offering the T-34/85 at this reduced rate.

This is only for the repeat T-34 customers.

AND ....

For you repeate guys who will be getting the assualt gun . I will offer that one for $250 !!!!!

But for that you will need to get all 3 .

Thank you all for the support in these trying times :D

All my back orders will be shipped today and I only have a week to get the T-34/85 out.

Hopefully I can finish up before my estimated start date on the Ho-229.

I need a show of hands of who wants the T-34/85.

So far I have
Zelda X 2
Robbie X 1
Grockwood X 1

Are you lay away guys going to want the 76 or the 85 ?

Please let me know ASAP. You can post here or PM me. I will not post the T-34/85 on e-bay for now because I am under the gun to get this done.

Thanks

I worked on the tracks today. What I am doing is the top of the tracks. I am putting sag in the top over the road wheels. That way I can try to get away from having to make the millions and millions of individual track links.

I have been working late to try and get the prototype done. The past few days.

I put in about 4 - 12 hr days  XD is serious stuff.

Photo opps were bypassed in order to try and get the thing done.

Well the fuel cells, turret and fenders are done :D

The turret turned out looking pretty good.

The only thing I have left to do is make the angle irons on the turret rings and make the extra links on the glacias.

I will do my best to post pics on Sat.

Thanks guys :D

All of the moulds are made. EXCEPT THE FENDERS. I ran out of RTV. :?

Production has started. For those guys who have ordered their's already I should have them probably by the first or middel of next week. Providing I have enough resin.( Which has been ordered with the RTV )

If you want the 85 now is the time to put in your order because once I get on the Hoten the T-34/85 production will get bumped so I can work on that project.

The last 2 ordered T-34/76s should be ready to ship on Friday.
