M8 M20 Armored car
M8 M20 Armored car
I was looking into getting one of these in 1/32 scale. Anybody make one? These were produced in good numbers. Seems to be overlooked in 1/18 and 1/32

The old Monogram 1/32 kits aren't bad. I'm sure I have one or two around here someplace.
Re: M8 M20 Armored car
In 1/32nd scale there was the old Monogram M8 armored car and M20 armored utility vehicles in kit form. These are really pretty decent kits. With a little careful assembly and some added details they will rival any FoV in 1/32nd. Wm Britains did a couple in 1/32nd diecast that still show up. The first version was a bit plain but the crew hatches in the front of the hull were open and figures were present. The second release closed the hull hatches but added the ETO ring mount for the .50 cal MG and some stowage. In larger scales you are out of luck. Tamiya did them in 1/35th and 1/48th and there have been M8s/M20s in 1/72nd and 1/87th.
Re: M8 M20 Armored car
By the way, the M8 started as a wheeled tank destroyer but ended up as the standard armored car for Mechanized Cavalry units. The M20 was intended to carry part of the security squad to protect tank destroyers. They were also used as command vehicles and other such duties. After WW2 some were used as security vehicles at SAC bases.

I am pretty sure that I will do one of these in 1/18 scale next year.
