I get emails from this site every once in a while and today I got one with some promise:

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/311447/ ... -Tank.html

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/28994 ... _cta=pro_1

Shipping is horrendous but hopefully they'll eventually make their way to our shores.

I'm not interested in the T-55 but the E-100 could have my name on it, but shipping from China and no U.S. "friendly" method of payment puts the E-100 back of the shelf for me.

Some nice "boats", like the PT boat in 1/32, but what is it? Not WW2, is it a post war? or current Chinese Navy PT? It doesn't say.

on the T-55 they take paypal and credit cards, so i assume they will on the E 100 as well, it doesn't look like it's ready for sale yet, since there is no price on it.

Who is the manufacturer?...i imagine both of these will be more easily available in time.

Hooben is the manufacturer. I'd wait until a dealer has these as I heard some people who have ordered the T-55 have had problems with delays, no instructions, wrapped in bubble wrap or parts missing.

They also have an elephant to come out someday.....

how big would a 1/16 E-100 be?

My rough calculations for the E-100 in 1/16 would be about 25" long x 11" wide and 7" high. Correct me if I'm wrong, I lost my conversion calculator. Anybody have one online?

Actual size is 33' 8.33" long, 14' 8.37" wide and 10' 9.52" high.

Not bad since I just opened my Mato Jagdpanther in 1/16 and that is 24" long, 7" wide and 6" high. BTW, I ordered the Jagdpanther last week and just got it direct from China. I've had longer delays from something ordered from my next town. 8)

Mato Jagdpanther? Do you mean the Heng Long jagdpanther? Are you sure those dimension are right TTT? That makes it almost exactly 1/18, a hair smaller actually.

Dimensions for the HL Jagdpanther are: 24"L x 8"W x 7"H

If you have something different let me know, i'll be all over it.

Aferg:

You are correct, the box for my tank is HL. Nowhere in any of the listings for this Jagdpanther (there are dozens) is a brand mentioned, not HL, not Mato. My mistake.

Your dimensions are correct except for the height. The actual height is a little over 6 1/2".

I am very happy with it. Haven't run it yet, but it looks great.

Waiting now for that E-100 to be listed. After the years we waited for 21C products, I'm ready to wait.

BTW - The price on my Jagdpanther on 9/30, was $65.99 + $35 air shipping from China. The same vendor now has a price of $88.99 + $35 shipping for the same Jagdpanther. Prices going up fast. Other vendors have a price of $105 w/free shipping.

OK, now I am totally confused. :? I need help.

Mato is Mato Toys which sells 1/16 Hen Long vehicles..... Is that right?

Matorro is a brand having nothing to do with Mato Toys, and only made a few 1/16 tanks, now all sold out.... Is that right?

Dis stuff is very confusing.

Yeah I know,

there's
- Mato Toys which sell HL tanks and produce the Mato Sherman.
- Matorro which makes the Matorro KT and some others.
- Torro which make certain parts for HL tanks
- and Heng Long
I think they are all related to each other but someone should have been more creative with the names.

matorro made the KT, which is at the moment sold out, the sturmtiger which is readly available and they are doing the upcoming Jagdtiger, which is just being released. I think they have done others as well.

Henglong is the more prolific of the two, having made several models, including the jagdpanther you just got.

Mato is mostly a retailer but seems to be getting into manufacturing as well.

Unimax and AllGo suck because they're not making anything but promises...

I just finished comparing my new HL Jagdpanther with the more inexpensive Matorro KT for detail and general good looks. I see no difference. between the two. If I had to bet, I'd bet money that both were made by the same people. I like them both.

I can see me getting more 1/16.

My count is just three 1/16 tanks (HL M-26 and Jagd and the Matorro KT) and two Jeeps but you never know.

BTW - There a few new 1/16 vehicles out (a Dodge WC-52 and a Command Car and a Jeep with a recoilless rifle) but all three are absolutely horrible and cost $132 before shipping on top of being bad models and stupid (Jeep has the recoilless rifle mounted to stick through the windshield with huge tow hooks and some kind of huge winch with big chain..... stupid).

Don't forget Heng Long is also making a King Tiger with Porsche turret.
Matorro also made a Tiger 1, more or less identical to HL's but with lower quality electronics.
I currently have 6 1/16 tanks, Tamiya Tiger 1, Asiatam/Tamiya Tiger 1, HL Tiger 1, Stug III, Panzer IIIL, panzer IIIH.

I am impressed with the quality of the HL tanks. I have had the HL M-26 for many years and it is a nice tank but the HL Jagdpanther quality is terrific and the tools that go on the tank are superb. HL has gone a long way.

My only problem is the decals with HL instructions like:
"Stick the mark to you need the position, then pressing down the paster."
"After wait for 15 minutes, then tears down the transparent film."
"As shown, the pasters are according to originally product stick method, however, other pasters decorates at will for the user"

In my feeble brain, this sounds to me like " It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told"

I'll echo my happiness with the Heng Long tanks. I got the PIV earlier this year. I've run it all over the yard (they throw tracks easily on surfaces like grass or rugs), and I just love it. It's prompted me to make a somewhat expansive obstacle course across the road from my place on some flats I own. I want something fun and difficult for maneuvering the tank, maybe someday snap some photos. I figure I may work on it next year sometime when it's warm out.

Heng Long does make a newer Panther G in addition to that previous abomination.
The Panther G seems to be pretty accurate and from what I've heard a great runner.
I think The only unaccurate thing about it is the wrong angle of the lower glacis plate, which was done to incorporate the gearboxes.

well i've pretty much decided to start collecting 1/16 tanks from this point on. I'll get subjects i haven't got in 1/18 first and then slowly replace my 1/18's with 1/16's. A costly propositon but mixing the scales is not an option for me and i can soften the cost by selling off my 1/18's.

After 10 years in this hobby i'm tired of waiting for new armour...like i said, the panzer iv is the last 'new' piece we got and that was what, 5 years ago, maybe 6?

I'll hang onto my 1/18 artillery, halftracks, wheeled vehicles and apc's (m113, bradley) but the tanks and tank destroyers are going to be 1/16.

For my first purchase it's between the jagdpanther and kv-1 but i plan to get all the 1/16 subjects there are in time.

The future is a lot brighter for 1/16 armour than it is for 1/18.

I'm hanging onto my static stuff... it's another scale but I'm going to display it separate. I can't part with it.

The 1:16 stuff's really tremendous though Aferg, you won't be sad.

I wanted to beat one around before I jumped into the hobby, and the Panzer IV was a great choice for me. I'm not into metal upgrades yet, but honestlY I could see me gettin gthere too.

I'm not into 1/16 completely yet as long as Pickel keeps making these great 1/18 gems of his and other things keep popping up.

I keep trying to come up with ideas for consolidating my available room by limiting scales, but them up pops something I can't resist.
First - Pickel recently made up the 1/18 75mm TD and then the T-23, great stuff...
Second - Then I found the 1/16 Jagdpanther and news that a Elephant in the works, great stuff...
So then, I'm thinking about reducing my 1/6 stuff and...
Third - Not only does Pickel agree to do a modification on my Sdkfz 250 to a Sdkfz 250/9 (that I've been interested in for years) but yesterday I find out DML is bring out a 1/6 Panzer 11 :? A PZ11 definitely has my name on it.

What's the solution? Maybe buy another house just for my toys?
Or maybe just start throwing out Mrs. TTT's junk and hope I don't get caught. BTW - Where is that 21c Tiger tank?..... I could have sworn it was right on that shelf........ I wonder??????
