Yeah unfortunately the support stuff seems to be niche enough that it is pretty expensive. I can't justify $500 + on a support vehicle. I'll stick with the tanks unless someone like Hen Long get into less expensive support stuff.

Very cool looking though, for sure.

If I had the casting skills Id buy one and dissect it and make all the molds and sell the non RC model kits on eBay for half the price.

Last year, someone posted on SSHQ that Matorro King Tigers have disappeared from ebay.
So my questions are:

1. Why are Matorro King Tigers very rare on ebay?
2. Has the value of the Matorro King Tigers increased since 2009-2010?

the matorro KT will be back. Same thing happened with their sturmtiger. It vanished for over a year and now they are abundant. The KT will probably be back by year's end.

Yes the matorro KT's have gone up a fair bit in price, just like out of production xd does.

According to MATO as of yesterday..."the KT is not currently in production ", and , " I will keep you updated if it is available again'. That statement was passed to me by Warwick at Awesome Hobbies.

From my post of a couple of months ago, that's the same answer I received when I contacted Mato. No comment from them though as to when it would enter production again or why they stopped in the first place.

AFERGUSON:

Thanks for the info. I bought a Matorro King Tiger on ebay some time ago. It's good to see it may have increased in value.

I'm interested in what youse guys think of the Hen Long KV-1?

I also found a German made conversion kit to change the KV-1 turret to a KV-2, which looks even better.

So? Thoughts?

I'm mulling over a 2nd RC Tank purchase right now...

Stg3
Jagdpanther
Tiger-I (Prolly with metal tracks and gear)
Panther
KV-1

I'm loving the Stg, but Tiger-I is appealing too... They all ultimately are but I'd say Panther is probably my lowest one on the list.

What's everyone's thoughts or suggestions? I'm open to ideas. Wish I could nab one a month but right now money's too tight for such a move. I'd love to be "caught up" on tanks though that are out, and jsut looking at the more expensive stuff or waiting for affordable Shermans... Hell, affordable WW2 1:16 tanks in general would be nice.

I only have four -

M-26
Jagpanther
King Tiger
and the KV-1 (got tired of waiting for an opinion)

I'm generally happy with them, my Grandcrumsnatcher ran the daylights out of the KV-1 last Sunday and generally scared me, with a house full of people and two Jack Russell terriers, who seemed to think the KV-1 was some kind of small animal, I was sure the KV-1 was gonna get smashed or bitten. I had just received it and had charged it up. My Grandson usually heads for my 1/6 Stuarts to see what is charged up. He approves of the KV-1 and is finally old enough (5) to understand what you mean by saying "No crashing into walls or furniture"

KV1 and Jagdpanther are in the running for me, but KT is out due to price... I'm trying to keep it from the $150 range on down. If I'd had a KV1 I'd have shared my opinion by the way. :) It looks badass though.

The Tiger-I with metal upgrades looks outstanding though. I don't have any metal upgraded armor, but I have heard it can wear motors down or whatever.

I thought a KV1 would be neat because it's so different, but I've honestly not got a lot of familiarity with it compared to other armor pieces. I'm just not sure where to go.

If you don't have a Tiger yet, there is a seller (shoprshop) on ebay right now who has Tigers for $63 with $12 for shipping. Best price I have seen for a new one. You can usually get a Panther, KV-1, Jagdpanther, or Stug for around $100 with free shipping from a seller called mideatoys. You have to search thru his items, but they are there. Of course, these prices don't include any kind of metal upgrades such as tracks. $150 is on the very low end for a piece with metal upgrades.

Can't go wrong on the KV-1. Just a note however, make sure you check
the on off switches on the HL tanks. Soldering quality is (was?) a bit sloppy and
could short the rc battery.

The heinlong Jagdpanther is not correct in the front, the lower glacial plate is at the wrong angle, (to steep) and I say the suspension is to stiff and raises the vehicle unrealistically high, if you dont mind that it is pretty cool. I dont have a KV-1 but from what I have seen they are awsome, the 1/16 RC tanks I have are:
king tiger (moto)
sturmtiger (moto)
Jagdpanther (Hein)
Mk III (Hein)
III Stug (Hein)
Tiger 1 (Hein)
Panther (Hein)

Of all them I like the MK III and the Stug III the best, they did a great job on the chassis.

Which company is Hein? Pics you can share? I'm not familiar with those...

I'm leaning now mostly on KV1 or Metal Upgrade Tiger-I.

I'm sure he meant Heng Long, and the other is Matoro. Mato has their M4.
Which I thought was really nice.
Was there a rumor that Heng Long was going to release a Sherman?

Yeah I know I'd read that too... I'd LOVE a Sherman, but not at the prices right now. It's got a lot of potential variation too of course. That'd be one I'd probably buy a couple of for sure.

Mato's looks really nice though, it's a favorite of mine, I just am not sure on the price with it... Doesn't seem like many are available on Ebay either, if any.
