Forces of Valor 1:16 Tiger I

Post by YT » Fri Jul 09, 2010 11:35 am

I had a chance to buy the Wittmann 007 metal Tiger today for $300. I was all ready to pull the trigger because it was complete in box with all the paperwork. One little hitch, it had none of the figures. I passed because of the missing figures. Did I make the right call?

That's almost half price.. If I had the money, I would have picked that up in a heartbeat. But maybe thats just me..

I passed because of the missing figures.
Personally, I think you made the right decision. Once upon a time I think you could buy the figs seperately, but I've been looking for them now for at least a year, and haven't seen them for sale anywhere including ebay. Ultimately, if you are comfortable with your decision, then that is all that matters. 8)

[+] FoV Wittmann Tiger I "007" The Final Battle

Post by MG-42 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 3:11 pm

* You made a wise decision declining considering no figures w/ it + the price , but some people don't care about figures. I would want mine complete if I were looking for one myself. That makes a big difference to me.

* The "Wittmann 007" Tiger had a total production # of 1800 units sold worldwide w/ that of only 350 slated to be sold just in the US alone. I am very fortunate to have production # 0007 , w/ which I bought on $ale back in 07' for about $300.00 + Free Shipping.

.......... The figures that came w/ the 2nd. Series "BoB" Tiger II was the only tank FoV sold figures separately. If their was any figures sold separately from the "Wittmann" Tigers , then this was only due to pvt. collections being sold off on ebay.

The one main thing to ask yourself is....were you planning to buy it because of the tank, or the figures?

I don't have anything 1/16, this would have been my first in the scale. I know they can go for more money, but I worried about the missing figures eroding the value. For that kind of money, even at a deal I would want it complete for resale value as well as display quality.

I snagged the Wittman figure, a bunch of crew and also some US Tank commander figs on Ebay, I think they were factory seconds but they still look pretty good.
The tanks in the pics still aren't finished BTW

I paid $412 (shipping included) for my Wittman Tiger from the second batch found in 2009---and I don't use the figures.
My big complaint about the Wittman Tiger I is that FOV should have included a second Wittman figure that would fit in the turret hatch.
