Wow, sounds like you are deep into the T-34. I am sure the kits will be worth the effort.
At least you don't have any more Saints games to get in the way

As far as the Saints go remind me later to hate you.

I do not have time to do it right now.

Work goes on with the molds.

So far about 4 gallons of RTV in the molds. That is gallons.

Hopefully all the molds will be done by Friday.

I am not ready to make the figurs yet but I looked at them today. When I tear them down I hope to get the articulation that the Indy figs have now. But the way that the sockets look that may not be realistic. So the figs that will come with the kit may be semi static in form. Make the stance that you want with them and glue them like that.

Plastic boy will make some of his masterpieces ( Russian ) for my Russian series.

I forgot the name of the poster who said that I should stay away from full builds. There is no doubt that this T-34 is the bigest project I have undertaken. This aint no Sdkfz 222. That has wheels this has over 200 parts in running gear alone.

Mods are so much easier to do.

OK I will quit crying for now.

I’m sure this is a beautiful piece in 1/18 scale, I’m looking forward to it. I understood this is not an easy job for full build of T-34, and the casting too!! Fantastic work!! I’m appreciating pickle created this great model.

I promise to make 3~4 figure for T-34; I was planning to make 3~4 tankers originally but when I look at the tank that probably 2 tanker, the one open the hatch (the turret), the second might be the driver but it won’t see much of it.

Like to know what you guys thinking!
1. One tanker/ one driver / 2 Infantry sitting at the back.
2. 4 tankers are at the rest posing.
Have fun with toys forever!

I am not quite done with the molds but they should be done this weekend.

Weather permitting production should start Monday.

I have not done any pouring yet but I hope to fill the orders by Friday but that remains to be seen.

This has been my longest and biggest project to date.

Building and mold making has taken about 8 weeks and I have over $ 800 worth of RTV and resin ( when I start pouring ).

For you guys who have paid in full I thank you.

I will be accepting balance payments at this time.

Thanks guys for the support :D :D :D

That price is usually too high for me but it's a T-34. I can't see doing a convincing eastern front movie without one of these. I won't have money for a couple of months but I really want to purchase one. How long do I have? will there still be one to purchase in the spring?

That's great news. What's the procedure for contacting you and are money orders okay? Thanks. Oh one last thing, do you have any plans for a possible japanese tank?

Just PM me and we can hook up.

As far as the Japanese tank goes I ran a poll way back when and the there was not a lot of interest. Maybe things have changed now.

Production is underway.

Although I ran out of RTV to finish the hull, I have started pouring resin.

So far it has taken a full unit of resin to pour one kit. WITHOUT THE UPPER HULL.

So it is taking about $50 worth of resin to make a single unit.

It will take over $700 just to make the molds.

5-6 weeks to make the prototype

1-1/2 weeks to make the molds.

About $100 for info and models ( research and developement )

So if I would make $10 an hour for my time all things added together.

This project has a price tag of $3,850

That is how much it cost to make a single unit.

And to think on another board I get chastized for the prices I charge.

I mave have to move onto the T-34/85 just to get sales up so that I can make this project a success. :?

Production is underway. I got the RTV in and I have made the mold for the upper hull . I have made 3 casts so far and they are coming out great.

Each kit has over 550 parts so I have many many parts to make.

So I need to make over 4,200 track links with their pins.

That is 140 links per kit with 280 pins.

I hope to have a few pics of the mountain of parts I have made already.

For those who are interested.

I WILL BE MAKING THE T-34/85 AS A PIGGYBACK TO THE T-34/76 project.

SO GET YOUR ORDERS TO ME ASAP SO I KNOW HOW MANY KITS I NEED TO MAKE.

The way things are going the kits should ship at the end of next week .

After the T-34/85 THE HO-229 WILL BE NEXT :D :D :D

Great news on all fronts Pickel! I can't wait for the T-34 and the news that the Ho 229 will go into production is fantastic!!
You are the only 1:18th company producing models. :D I hope the others take notice.

Production is well under way.

I AM MAKING HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF TRACK LINKS

I am pretty sure ( but do not hold your breath ) that the first batch should go out on friday.

The hulls have all come out great !!! Mold making is an evolution and I think that I finally got it down. On the hull that is.

I still need to work out how I am going to make the lens cover for the search light .

I have an idea of how I am going to make them. Kind of a tube in a tube diapunch deal.

Then I need to make the directions and I can start kitting the orders :D :D :D

Hey guys,

I NEED TO MAKE OVER 1,400 TRACK LINKS

So far it has been over 3 days and I only have about 400 made

Fo you guys who are getting this kit what do you think of me making the bottom section in one long track link all connected ?

The rest would be single links.

By doing this it would save DAYS.

Of course for you guys who would want the single links, you will get them.

when i order you can defintiely make mine with as much solid track as you want, PH. In fact i would prefer not to have to fiddle with a bunch of individual links. You can make the entire thing solid if you want, so long as it fiits realistically over the road wheels.

We want you to stay healthy, so you can keep making this great stuff, don't we guys. No one benefits if Pickel has a nervous breakdown. :)

Pickel, I'm fine with fixed links for the bottom section of track. If this can save you time and help finish up the T-34 project........go for it.

We need you to keep your sanity and more importantly...................move on to the Horten Ho-229 :P
j/k

So far only one guy wants the single track links.Anybody else ?

If not most will get the long link on the bottom.

I worked late to get the figure molds made tonight. The RTV finally came in. I ordered it last monday and it just came in.

Guess were it was coming from. DALLAS :?

Time to cry.

This full build has been the most work that I have ever done for one of my builds. This could just be my last full build for a tracked piece of armor. Just the sheer volume of RTV that I used was unbielvable.

I shudder to think what I would have done if I had gone with a cheaper price point.

$300 is a car note. But you guys have no idea what goes into making these things.

OK I will stop crying.

Work goes on and all the parts are coming out great.

Hopefully shipping will start Friday. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. :D
