1/18th Sherman Dozer Blade Is Back !!

I am almost done with my prototype. I should be able to post some pics tonight

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:M4A3- ... trun-1.jpg

I was going to do the mine roller but the way things are going it may have been cost prohibative. The resin alone on the rollers would have been about $30-$40  That would have pushed the price point well over $100 and I just do not think that anybody would get it if it was over $125. Except my main nucleous of buyers.

So I am trying to get this out as a quicky.

Any interest ?

So, are you working on the blade for the Sherman Dozer?
What would be the cost for blade for our Shermans? (Fov and 21stC?)

This should fit on ALL 1/18 Shermans.

All the makes used them in real life. Do not quote me on this but I think each battalion had at least one in inventory. :D :D :D

I am thinking around $60 for the assult dozer blade.

The blade is BIG .

I was trying to get some work done on this today. But I have way too much things piled up to sort out after such a legthy vacation.

I hope to have the dozer prototype finished this weekend in order to post some pics for you guys.

It looks like no new armor news in 1/18 scale.

Heck before I left I was the only game in town anyway.

Dare I say that I am the only one keeping 1/18 scale armor alive ?

Pickle:

It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.

Being the only business in town does have some advantages.

Your price sounds good to me.

PH,
Never under estimate your competition.
At this point in time, you ARE the only game in town on armor.

BUT...

Grunt has some nice pieces in artillery and weapons

Plasticboy has just offered up some nice looking sitting figures for jeeps and trucks and I guess they could ride on a tank too.

I really appreciate each and everyone of you out there still creating 1/18 items and keeping our hobby going.

Who knows, some company may rise up and be the 21st Century Toys of the 21st Century...
We will have to see.

Well she is done.

The linkages were perplexing but I think I got it right.

This thing sure was fidely with all of the conections , hydrolic arms and what not.

A whole lot of head scratching whent into this and a lot of staring at pictures time.

The way I made the hangers they clip right on to the bogie. No drilling or glueing.

Next is the mould making. But there is a snag. I ran out of RTV. My supplier as out as well. I need to catch up on some nick nacks then I will get back to the M-3 TD..

I am still looking at $60 for this plus shipping.

This adds a aditional 3 inches to the front . The blade is about 7 inches wide and Sherman with blade has an overall length of 15 1/2 inches.

That is about 7.5 cm in front ,19 wide for the blade and about 44.5 cm length over all.

There were a couple of things holding me back on the dozer. One was is that I ran out of RTV and two I wanted to finish the M-3.

Now the M-3 is almost done and my RTV came in. I hope to go into production next week !!!!
