I agree :) It is looking great and will fit into any collection :)

I still think it looks like plastic windows - but you could be right

it's going to be a bit underscale but still a nice big plane. It doesn't look so hot on it's undercarriage but some of the in flight pics could be mistaken for a real B-17

Not crazy about the paint scheme, but it does look nice. I still havent put together the B-25 yet (waiting for them to finish my garage/workshop :-(, but this one does look too cool to pass up. thanks for keeping us informed about these Aferg. :D

as mentioned, that's just a prototype and there will be 2 paint scheme options; one silver one olive drab and both should look much better.

Does the 737 come with any type of paint scheme?

i assume it's coming with the Qantas scheme shown in the picture. If not, it will have generic airliner decals, windows and number markings for a fictitious airline.

Heck, I would think a real airline would love to have their scheme attached to something like that. :) It looks cool.

U-2 update. These are available now. Best price so far is $120 but i expect that to come down as more dealers start selling it. That is for the basic aiframe kit, which is all one needs for a display model. BUT it does not come painted. It's white. Having seen pics of the painted versions, it's just as well, as they are kind of a shiney black anyway.

A couple of cans of Testors flat black should do the job nicely.

Looks pretty nice otherwise.

1/17.5 Panavia Tornado

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Ra ... 787197.htm

Anyone had any experience with these? Seems to work out a tad under 1/18. Sweeped back width about 100mm off scale though.

i mentioned this a few posts above. You can buy them lots of places for $104. I plan to get one in the new year. It's actually a hair underscale, as the ADV F3 is a bit longer than the ground strike version... wings are a bit too spanny. Overall a nice looking bird.

Yikes.....shipping is gonna cost around $95USD if I order it from the States. Still thinking of grabbing the one here in NZ.

get them from RC Castle, pw-rc.com or x-flight. Will cost $104 plus about $40 shipping. I'm going to wait a few months as the price will inevitabley come down a bit.

a new C-47 coming. It's about 1/20 scale. Wingspan is 58 inches, length about 38 inches. Comes painted in DDay livery. The only drawback is that it might be solid foam, and thus you wouldn't be able to make a door for paras to jump from. Otherwise it looks pretty nice. No idea on price but it shouldn't be high. Managed to get a slight deal on the Tornado. Going with the one here in NZ. By the time I add together the plane + shipping + currency conversion, it works out relatively the same price. Should hopefully get it before christmas (although NZ post will be pretty crazy around this time of year). I'll post some pics when the Tornado arrives.

very cool......you got the RAF version i imagine? I'm undecided as to whether to leave it as is or repaint the black trim in light grey. I do love the look of an all light grey F3. Would need to come up with low viz tail flashes though. The black trim looks sharp but is less 'typical looking'. Hm...

yeap, RAF version. Someday though it will be wearing a 1991 Gulf War scheme.

Are you going to get custom decals for yours Aferg? The RAF version would look pretty cool, if only they had all the little detail decals. Could even do the scheme where just the tail is black?

doubtful. These planes don't look so hot in close up inspection, so i don't see a lot of need to get little detail type decals. If i decide on a non black tail, i would get low viz tail flashes. However, i am probably gong to leave as is.
