Small Scale Military Headquarters

Is it just me but is 1:18 scale slowly dwindling away. Every time I go to the stores the isles are slowly getting smaller and less toys. maybe its my location. Im in wichita Kansas. I know the toy train line has slowly disappeared, lack of interest I guess what I was told. Hows everyones feelings on this.

Well, seeing as Unimax is the only one releasing stuff at brick and mortar stores, the feeling is natural.

You should see the stores in California. Nothing 1:18 for over a year now.Hardly any collectable military. Lots of Ipods and electronics.

Even the kids regular toys are hardley anything. Toys r us shelves are just about empty for any action figures. wonder if its just cleaning house for new stuff?

About the only 1/18th items I've spotted on a consistent basis are the FOV figures and vehicles.

"slowly dwindling"? Its been completely gone everywhere I have been for some time.

There is always that semi 1:18 scale crap that WM sells. Hardly worth mentioning. Pretty much if there is a future to 1:18 it will likely be online.
Save a lot of time driving around.

I live on the other side of the pond and its imposible to find anything,even on ebay.most stuff has to be bought state side but if the sellers don't send firstclass then the shipping costs more than the items

I know the main reason we aren't seeing anything is the fallout after the demise of 21stC, but do military toys sell well when a War is going on?
Anybody got any data on this?

My wife and I just moved from Wichita. We spent three years stationed at McConnell AFB.

Wichita is a weird place for purchasing toys, not just 1:18. It's feast or famine, particularly at Toys R Us. If you aren't out in the morning you aren't going to find anything. In order to get anything i had to start making rounds at 7:30AM. Granted the place was so small i could hit every store in an hour on the west side, but still, i hated going out every morning. All i wanted to do was find stuff for my kid too.

If you aren't at TRU on Thursday when the door opens you won't find anything at all.

so that means that I don't have to rush through Walmart and other stores in SF?

I can't find any sale charts

POLITICAL CORRECT! thats the words why war toys and guns are hard to find. WM and others have decided not to carry these items. the toy guy at WM told me that managment doesnt want these type of toys in there stores. GIJOE being the exception since they are more fantasy based. aswell as the fact that even joe has become politically correct "new world order" the movie was a joke!
