21c at weekend of Heroes next weekend

Post by aferguson » Wed Jun 15, 2005 8:26 am

From 21c's website:

"21st Century Toys would like to invite all of you to visit us during A
WEEKEND OF HEROES June 24th-26th in Ontario, California. Drop by and say
"Hi"!

We will be showing a few new products at this event that some of you may not
have had a chance to see in person. And if you haven't had a chance to see
the new 1:6 Scale R/C M1045, we'll have a couple at the show!

This year we are proud to be a sponsor for this great event, and we thank
John and everyone at A Weekend of Heroes for putting together such a great
event!"

Maybe we'll get some new news at long last?

I really want to go to this, but being that its on Fathers Day weekend, I don't know if i'll be able to swing by. It's about an 1.5 hours drive away from me. I know AVIATORNUT will be going. Maybe he can get us some pictures of what ever he sees.

I will be there Sunday. Saturday I'm busy, and Friday isn't open to the public. I'll post photos and a report.

Cool! We'll expect the very latest in intelligence reporting from you Britt. Let us know how the Avenger boxing issues are coming and when we can expect them to start catching arrestor hooks.....

Thanks buddy!

Will do! I may also be giving a few of them a tour of the Planes of Fame Museum since they're only about 5 minutes away or so.

I'll be there too

Post by markecho » Thu Jun 23, 2005 7:16 am

Hey guys,
I'll see ya or not see ya there this Saturday too!

But last year when I got there (at about 9:45am) the line to get in stretched from the entrance of the hall to almost the entrance of the building..it seemed like there were 200 people or more in line. That was on saturday. And if anyone remembers, the fire alarm went off and EVERYONE including vendors had to clear the building! Right about opening time! heh that was funny.

I've been to this con every year since it started (and used to be in LA somewhere), and every year more people show up. So that is good. But that means more crowds!

Well everyone have a good time this weekend. Anyone ever think of entering a 1:18 dio even though it is mainly a 1:6 con? Since 21stC is a big sponsor, it would be cool to make an all exclusive 21stC dio! (With the buildings, tanks, jeeps, trucks, figures..oh but accesorise with Build-O-Rama stuff!!!)

take it easy

AWOH stuff

Post by markecho » Sat Jun 25, 2005 6:05 pm

Well just got back a few hours ago and spent a little cash

First off the relevent stuff - most surprising and welcome was Build-A-Rama buildings! Yes they have come up with a whole bunch of 1:18 and 1:32 buildings. Mark said they will be on their site soon. It was good to talk with them and hear about the continued success of their products. Their stuff always rocks!
21st Century..nothing new that I saw. There was a repaint of that jet everyone is looking forward to..(sorry I'm an armor guy!) and pics are below. The RC hummer..hmmmm if that is the final product then I'll pass. It didn't even have windows (or am I late on this info).
BBI - nothing new but saw the carded WWII paratroopers - yes only paratroopers. these are totally different from what we have been seeing in toyfair (unless again I have been missing some info on the boards). If this is all they are coming out with..they need more variety.
Again this was mainly a 1:6 show..lots of nice RC tanks, custom figures and some sneak previews like 1:6 scale Roman Legionairres by Ignite! I'll be spending some cash on those boys when the come out in fall!

Other than that, no other real surprises that I saw or anything to drool over (except those romans!)

here are pix - sorry to Mark that I could not do justice to your awesome buildings...and also sorry guys that i couldnt get a great shot of the bbi carded..dang flash!

Not sure if these links will work. I am very unhappy with webshots program now so looking for better programs.
And I just tested out the links..and can't even enlarge?...dang anyone know of a better free photo share?

...well now that that is over...back to the SW hunt!!!! and then Comic Con!

EDIT: They're all different... 8) I just hope you can get rid of the yellow on all their chests.

the yellow stuff on their chests s a life jacket....i wonder if it comes off. I don't know that the WWII US paras had camouflaged chutes. They were white as far as i know..

They were camouflaged. Only the training and reserve chutes were white IIRC....

Dave, Thanks for the pictures. That is the very first time any of us have seen the F-104 pilot, well done! At least we have seen the Vietnam 104 and some of the Euro releases. I'm hoping more pops up on Sunday. Fingers crossed. Oh, and I get first dibs on your Gabreski P-47!

It looks like the F-104 has the same problems as it's bbi cousins. Note the bowed landing gear. This might be due just to extensive handling. I believe that plane survived the New York show as well. I can't wait until these things pop off the shelf. I'm going to be zooming my 104 around the house, inducing Yeager-wrenching flat spins.....

That's my concern - they wouldn't have them on long after landing so all 6 guys are only good for pre-jump :? There is so much cool gear packed in they have to have thought that through....I hope....Otherwise we just have 6 Rupperts....

I can't get over the pack-ins though - it would be amazing if these are $5 TRU figures  I hope giving the paras the mortar doesn't mean we're not getting the Infantry or Rangers  They were really sweet....

BTW, did anyone DARE ask BCA what's up with these figures and bbi in general?
