BBI or 21st Century Humvees?

Post by margras77 » Sat Dec 26, 2009 5:55 pm

Which do you like more?
(I am talking about the Desert TOW missile launcher 21c Humvee and Desert TOW missle launcher BBI Humvee, not the BBI Super/Forest/grey/swat humvees or the 21c hard/soft top humvees)

BBI Humvee Pros:
-No windows makes it easy to open doors
-Weathering makes it look more interesting
-Easier to fit figures inside
-Feels VERY sturdy
-Good TOW launcher and has tripod

BBI Humvee Cons:
-Some people dont like the weathering
-No windows
-Not as detailed as the 21c
-Tow missiles in back non-removable

21c Humvee Pros:
-Highly Detailed
-Removable tow missiles
-Has windows
-Trunk=very realistic
-Very nice underside

21c Humvee Cons:
-Feels fragile, parts easily break
-Tow Launcher has no tripod, olive green looks out of place
-Color looks rather plain without any weathering
-Hard to fit figures in it and open the doors

So, which do you prefer?

I prefer the more accurate Grill on the BBI version.

Whats up with the crazy grill anyway? I dont think it changes the vehicle that much that GMC still wouldnt try to take a bite out of the revenue. I don't know why you are even asking for opinions, I know you're gonna wind up buying all of them anyway. Welcome to the world of plastic crack!!!!!

I have, but the launcher isn't exactly olive drab, is it? Its kind of an off-putting color IMO, especially without any weathering.

21c Hummer is the best version all around. BBI's hummer is not bad, but it is much more toyish.

I do have both 21st and BBi in my collection.
21st Century hands down, BBi's lack of windows make it "toy like" for me.
If I have it right, 21st's version came boxed with a general release "Special Forces" figure
and a cooler Exclusive "Special Forces" figure with hoodie, sunglasses and baseball cap.
In my opinion just a better overall package. :) :) :)

That guy wasn't always packed in. Oddly enough he was originally packed in with the Cobra. Very cool figure.

Yeah, never figured out why they threw a Delta Forces operator in with the Cobra.

Or why i have two of them.

They probably had him already tooled up for the modern carded line and decided to just go with it instead of spending the extra to design and tool a pilot figure that would likely only be sold with the Cobra.

Well it's quite easy to remove the TOW missiles from the BBI humvee , juste open it and pop it off with a flat head screw driver :D
