PWP 1/18 Scale F-100 Super Sabre

Post by Birddog » Mon Dec 07, 2009 8:48 pm

Here's something to talk about other than JSI's F-14. Just ran across this at Military Toy Shop:

http://www.militarytoyshop.com/product. ... &PT_ID=249

This could be interesting.

I think they should make it with options on the gear at least. Wonder what the price will be?

Let's hope not.

For the price range this is probably going to go for, it would be nice to have both landing gear options in a plug in form at least.

Unfortunately I doubt that.

I'm thinking no less than $500.

I hope some type of ordinance is going to come with it as well. Didn't see it mentioned in the description.

No way it's going to be under $400, given the prices PWP is charging for minor mods of existing AC.

I'll bet the kit version will be at least $500 if the finished and assembled model is close to a $1,000.

It would be an interesting plane for customizing.

I like the F-100, but for me it's no A-10. Have to wait and see how this unfolds. If the kit form is not to unreasonable, I could bite.

After reading "Bury Me Upside Down", it's hard for me not to want to add a 1/18 scale F-100 to my collection.

It will actually be the first (jet) aircraft in 1/18 scale that served heavily in Vietnam.

Id love a F100 but like many have siad its gonna be expensive and to be honest anything over 150 is too much
they should just sell it in kit form and let us put it togather and paint

Very cool. The probable price is a little too much for me, but I'd love to get a 1:18 Super Saber to match my Hobbymaster 1:72 model in the markings of Col Harold Comstock of the 27th Tactical Fighter Wing. I knew the guy afterall

I'd love to see the Hun, hopefully JSI makes one(un spotted and more accurate than the Tomcat).

I'd want a D model then maybe a Wild Weasel, definitely wand the D with CAS weapons though.

I remember this being on one of those lists that 21st had back in the day. This, the Phantom, and if we are talking Vietnam jets, the THUNDERCHIEF would be awesome in 1/18.
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

The high dollar planes like this are really something. Its great to see someone doing stuff like this but as an average collector it will never be on my shelf. I was pushing it buying the F-14.
