SECOND BATCH OF MY WALL HANGERS COMPLETED

Post by Buckyroo » Tue Oct 27, 2009 6:24 pm

Here are the newest photos of my office at home. I had to see how many 1/18 AC I could display in this small space ( 8' x 16' x 9'). I have 34 planes hanging on the walls. There are 2 doors and 1 window in my office that the plane have to go around. I know that my wall hangers are not the best, most natural way to present the airplanes, but they serve the purpose of allowing the most AC in a limited space. I will soon hang my P-38s from the ceiling, but as you can see I sure have filled the walls with my single engine fighters. I know that this topic is somewhat a repeat, but I am happy to have fit this many planes in my space at home.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

Is the quote link in the upper right corner the one you are trying to use. Hit the link on the comment you want to quote and then you can edit in your post a reply box. Hopefully that is what you were looking for.

I need to clarify- I was trying to post several pics- explain it to me, please- it's OK to sound condescending if thats what it takes. LMK so I can quit hijacking this thread! pm me or something. I had this figured out at one time.

I use photobucket for my picture storage on line. I copy the second link down from the picture. Paste in the SSHQ post box. Highlight (right click) the photo link and then click Img from above. I don't know if there are other methods, but this is the process I used to post pictures and I will stick to what I know works.

On Photobucket copy the last box next to where it says "IMG CODE" then all you have to do is paste the link directly into your message and the pic will be there.

most kind of ya, looks like we both have a generous helping of the earlier stuff and some customs on your part- Your mounts look good...if one can get away with hanging planes on the main level of the house!!!!

i used to do that exact same thing with my 1/48 scale plane collection. Had almost 100 at one point, many years ago.

Looks great. The beauty of the system is you can take them down any time to play with them, set then on u/c etc and when done put them back up on the wall, out of the way and looking sharp.

I havent' done that with any of my 1/18 planes yet but i'm going to be soon, since my vertical space and airspace are nearly gone. The Tomcat will probably be my first wall hanger.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

sorry, pics of our stuff never gets old (to me, at least).
Image
Image Image Image Image Image I built a new shelf for the corsairs, a new one for the 262's ect, and the shelf for the avengers. I don't draw these out (obviously), I just start from the ground up and see how many planes I can squeeze into them.

Awesome! That's a great idea of displaying 1/18 models. Maybe I'll try it too. My ceiling's getting pretty crowded.
