JSI Wish List

Post by Ferrari250GTO » Fri Aug 14, 2009 1:36 pm

Ok so we all want a 1:18 B17, but nobody has the room or the cash and 100 other reasons.
Realistically, what would you like to see JSI do?
Personally, due to space issues, I am not suggesting multiple paint schemes for the same items. And no new repaints of models that are already out.

King Tiger- ok that's a given
Maus- wonder why nobody ever suggested this before. This would be the center of any armor collection.
I don't have any planes on my list small enough to be realistically done right now.

What would you like to see?

I don't think JSI is going to be doing "new" items, unless the have the molds in hiding somewhere from 21st Century. I think Admiral or another upstart company like them would be more likely to issue all those neat planes that we have seen some prototypes from the trade shows.

- 1/18 B-24 or B-17 sections would be awesome! I would settle for a half of section to mount on a wall/shelf to display with my 1/18 pilots and crew.

I wish JSI would revamp the TBF Avenger model. Get rid of it's quality control issues. I would get one of those in a heartbeat.
Fred, really looking forward to the JSI 1/18th scale Grumman F-14 Tomcat.

I would like to see an F-22 and some new WW2 aircraft such as the F4F Wildcat, a Val, and a Kate. On the more unrealistic side I'd really like to see a B-25...
I'd especially like to see some new helicopters as well , a Ch-53, Chinook, or a re-release of the Super Cobra

much of it depends on which 21c molds JSI has. 21c used a few factories so we may already be seeing everything JSI has of theirs.

As far as new stuff, well they have already announded F-14, F-15 and Su-27. Between repaints and single/two seat versions of those that should keep them busy for a long time. Not sure how many new items they'll be making for the next couple of years.

Bravo Team is our best hope for new armour....unless the 21c KT magically pops up somewhere, they may be our only hope. Them and chap mei, power team etal.

I wouldn't count on anything from Admiral. I think they are gone...perhaps to come back one day but gone for now.

JSI is pretty much it right now unless BBI surprises. Even then it would probably just be a repaint Hellcat or something.

The future of 1/18 scale for the next few years at least, lies with customs, specialty kits (like PH is making), cheap stuff like bravo, chap mei etc, and r/c tanks and planes.

I've already sucumbed to this reality and ordered a 1/16 KV-1 to go along with my T-34. A bit annoyingly big but way better than nothing. Those will probably be the only 1/16 tanks i get. Others i can wait for, make or do without but i gotta have some russian armour....way too important to do without.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Ah, the wishlist threads again. Don't we ever get tired of these? I agree with the above post that we are likely to see a lot of repaints or modifications of the old 21c items for the time being. That is what JSI has indicated, however, since they are doing some new toolings, the would be my wishlist. Note that a lot of my choices are based of vehicles and aircraft I have in 1:32 scale.

Armor:
King Tiger
T-34
Stug III
SDK-222
M-18 Hellcat
M-24 Chaffee

Aircraft:
SBD Dauntless
F4F Wildcat
FW-190A/F
P-51B/C

I could name a lot more, but what's the point

I'd love to see the following modern(ish) planes, in order of preference:

A-10 Thunderbolt
F-22 Raptor
F-4 Phantom
AV-8 Harrier
F-117 Nighthawk
EA-6 Prowler
A-6 Intruder
A-4 Skyhawk

well, I better end this wishlist before it gets too long, but there are still more I'd buy. Actually I doubt they could make a jet I wouldn't be interested in

I'd ditto TMan's armor -

"Armor:
King Tiger
T-34
Stug III
SDK-222
M-18 Hellcat
M-24 Chaffee"

With a few additions -

M-19 or M-42 40mm Dusters
Opel Blitz
CCKW - any model
Any German or American big truck
Any wrecker American or German
Any tank transporter with my ultimate dream - Pacific Armored M-25 transporter with trailer
Any High Speed Tractor (M-4 up to M-8)
Any gun to tow behind all this stuff (105mm. 155mm howitzer, 155mm Long Tom or bigger German or American)

For aircraft -

P-39 Aircobra
Mosquito
P-61 Black Widow

And the best allied fighter-bomber in WW2 - A-20 Douglas Havok. So fast and maneuverable that after dropping its bomb load, they willing took on German fighters and with 10 to 18 .50cals, they were instant death to anything on the ground.

I'd love to see the big wingspan planes in 1/32 just to bring those planes into the realm of possibility although still big (B-17, B-24, PBY, B-25, B-26, C-47, WACO troop glider, German transport planes etc).
