Just saw this today. Site is in german so i can't read it but the dimensions are spot on for length and a tad big spanwise, but overall close to perfect.

Very excited about this find.

Wow. Considering the hit-or-miss accuracy of a lot of R/C stuff these days, it looks like the makers of this particular beastie got the overall shape and dimensions pretty darn close. Very interesting indeed...

can some german speaking person give me the details about this thing. Cost is about 205 Euro. Probably can be found for cheaper in time, as it looks like it just came out.

oh dandy, thanks.

rotor blades are kinda odd, i just noticed. Not sure what that's all about.

Except for the goofy decals it looks really good. It's probably molded fiberglass rather than foam, at least the fuselage. The wings might be foam.

Definitely too spanny, you can see it, but that's usual with r/c planes and i don't think it effects the looks at all. The fuselage is the critical detail for scale and it's 1/17.9 scale. :)

Kinda pricey though at almost $300US. Will definitely be shopping around on this puppy. Be quite cool to have though..

correction: the wingspan is nearly perfect too. The first set of dimensions i was using were wrong. I found a detailed 3 view with all dimensions given. The wingspan on the model is only 7mm too long; less than 1/3 of an inch. So overall, it's virtually exactly 1/18.

I thought the dark grey paint job was odd, but apparently that's how the marines are painting them. The decals still have to go, howver. :)

The gray is wrong, it has to be lighter, haze gray. The white paint is like whats on test models. This is definitely something I will save my lunch money for!

here's a pic of a marine osprey in a dark grey like the model. I also saw a video of one on youtube, in the same dark grey.

here's one in haze grey: note there are no stripes within the bars on the national insignia. Looks like the wwii style one. Are they reverting back to it?

there are stripes, but very difficult to see. the white in the center is dulled out.

if you're talking about the r/c one be patient. It will be cheaper in time. It just came out and is only available in europe. Airframe only options should be available eventually and once north american or chinese sellers get a hold of it, it will be a lot less. Should be under $150 eventually.
