I may have to pass on this one as well.

It depends on the cost. I think that $200 is a high ball cost. I think that they should sell in the $100-$150 range. Anything higher is just a gouge from the etailers.

BBI would never sell them that high if they would think that they could make a profit.

But there are a lot of guys out there who will buy them.

I just don't think there are 5,000 out there who will fork out that kind of dough.

Gave up long ago on the 2 Dauntless I had ordered and will use that $$ on the Tomcat pre-order. If it is a good release I may try to get another for a custom scheme.

If it is $150 or less (pre shipping), I'll grab one ... actually it will end up with my brother (he has all the modern fighters).

I have pre-ordered mine as well. It is said to be shipped for $200-230. Not bad considering the size of it.

So how does this work? Do you order an F-14 regardless of the paint scheme or is there a "firm" commitment by JSI to produce the Jolly Rogers version already?

Considering it.......Shipping cost will be a BIG factor, if not the final decider.

"firm commitment" and "1/18th" don't often seem to collide anymore...

right now there is an early production model/prototype - we're assured it's the final model design - and that's all we know - it is speculated the model may exceed $250 but should be at least $200

I plan to custom paint 2 so that would happen for sure. If the scheme and paint quality are good I would easily buy 3 and keep one in original markings.

I already have my list of top 6 schemes and narrowing it down to 2 will be a little tough.

you can count me on this one ! i am crazy for almost one year since the first rumors !!!!!!!!!

TKO : you should do some agressor scheme to match your F 18 & F 16 agressors .... but you are right the choice will be tough ... or really costly
