Ummmmm. Yes! I get tired of paying for shipping. Hobby stores would be nice and TRU would be even better but I doubt that will happen.

I would love for them to be in retail stores. Not Wal-Mart necessarily for vehicles. Figures perhaps, but not vehicles. I believe WM was partially responsible for some of the dips in quality we saw in 21C tanks and planes, and I don't think high-quality 1:18 models are what WM's target customers are looking for: something their kids can throw against the wall without breaking.

Doubt it, unless it's a specialty store. I think they are finally catering it to the enthusiast collector.

HELL NO!!!

If these products were at Wal Mart, for example, then I have to worry about the whole distribution thing where people in Texas and the midwest get droves of the items, while the west coast and east coast go dry. I was darn fed up with all the same people finding the new 21c items again and again and would not like to repeat that episode

On a more serious note...

While selling the items at mass retail would in theory boost JSI's sales and profits as the products would be available to a wider range of people than collectors, we already saw from 21c's example that mass retail was, in the end, not a good idea for 1:18 military. They made too much and sold too little. The few of us here may like giant tanks and planes, but it is quite obvious that most average Americans do not. Realistic 1:18 military goods sold poorly at mass retail, no matter the company making them. Why else did Wal Mart have all those great 21c sales and why is Target having one on the Bravo Team stuff now?

A smartly run business plan that caters to collectors will work best for JSI. That is what companies like Corgi, Dragon, HobbyMaster, and even Unimax do and notice they have not gone the way of 21c. Yes it means higher prices for us, but a limited plan targeting collectors will ensure the survival of the line and allow us to keep collecting.

My vote for stores,shipping costs suck. looking for it gives me the feeling of "adventure". Its not the kill,but the thrill of the chase.

Would be good for the hobby if they were somewhat available through your local hobby store.

That would be good for enthusiast exposure,and this would probably bring new members into this scale.

It would still be exclusive,but would not have to rely on strictly internet sales.Save on shipping too.

Make them available to the people that want them.I am sure that some collectors of other scales would be impressed if they saw a good 1:18 model.

I could easily see the JSI products being available at local hobby stores, just not at mass retail. Hobby stores are essentially small retailers and most would only sell a handful of the planes. Local availability would depend on whether the manager at one's local hobby store contracts with JSI to sell their products.
