Don't Give Up On Wal Mart!!!!

Post by memaddog » Thu Jun 04, 2009 3:45 pm

WOW!!!!!!
I stopped going to Wally World almost all together since there is no more XD stuff there. I bought the last 1:18 German XD Soldiers they had at my local Wal Mart about a month or so back. The girl in charge of Toys told me that was it, no more.
Well!!!!!!!
This morning I went in before work to buy a Flat of Bottled Water and said, what the Hell and went throught the Toy Dept. I was really looking for Hot Wheels, Larry's Garage cars or the new Klingon Bird of Prey that just came out, there was nothing so I went on down the isle a ways and there sat the same 2 Howtzer Cannons in 1:32 scale that's been there for a least a year now, I said well CRAP!!! Then a Long Green Box caught my eye just below them. I turned it around and I said Hol** SH*** Batman!!!!
There was a "MINT IN THE BOX" Motorworks NKK Spitfire in 1:18 Scale, I do mean MINT too, not a ding or scratch, never been opened!!!!!
I scaned it to see if there was a discounted price from the $39.84 Box Price, the scanner said to see a store associate. I said CRAP, they won't sale it to me because it's not in their inventory. The date on the box was 2003, I can't remeber the last time I saw one of these.
I found the Toy Manager and she scanned it and said not in inventory, do you want it for the box price that's on it, I said no I don't and she took it awy!
NOOOOOOOOOOO, I didn't!!! I ran to the cash register with it and it came Home with me today!!!! Forgot the Water I went in for to start with, had to stop back in after work this afternoon to get it!
What a find, never would I have ever thought I would find anymore XD stuff at Wal Mart, then BLAME!!! A Spitfire of all Planes!!!!!
Has anyone else been this LUCKY latly at Wal Mart?????
Thanks for letting me tell my GREAT Story!!!!
I am totaly JAZZEDDDDD!!!!

That is so incredible as to border on a miracle. If it is in a mint box, it's probably not something that was sitting in the stock room - sounds like a possible return? In any case, you are one lucky guy.

You, sir, are a lucky man!!!! Have I been that lucky? Well, yes. 8) I wish I didn't give the majority away, but I bought 10 Air Cav Hueys for $7 each about 3 years ago on discount. I wish I knew then that they would be going for a mint right now, hehehehe.....

Spits came out in 3 diff boxes, black/green Motorworks, blue 21st, and the Corgi packaged ones in the UK were in a black box I believe.

Cool find!

Awesome story, hehe! When I read the part where you said you told her no to the price on the box I thought "you crazy hold-out #$#$@!" but luckily you were kidding. ;)

Great find.

This is why it was pre-mature to unstick the WM thread! People are still finding cheap figures and now this! Not sure what the rush was to unstick that after all these years..

Then memaddog woke up.....

I'd def say it was a return. Something similar happened to me a awhile back. Went to a Walmart that hadn't carried 1/18 planes in a long time and there sat about 6 planes. The only problem is that they had obviously been repainted and customized. The German planes had swastikas painted on their tails and all were weathered in one form or another. Needless to say, I passed.
