I hate to be over critical but if you're gonna put out work like that then dispense with all the "I'm a professional" rhetoric and the "worth more than I start them at" jazz....just my opinion.

I could accept him tooting his own horn on some of his stuff, but this "Kate" is so wrong.

If he had any credibility before, this pretty much shoots that down the toilet.

Going to have to watch this auction to see where it goes. For the price he wants right out of the gate, I seriously doubt he'll get even one bid.

All you have to do is look at a 1:72 Hobbymaster Kate on ebay and see what an abomination this is.

BTW: VMF214, those Rufes are SWEEEEET!!!

Greetings

It kind of looks like the mock "Zeros" used by the airshow team Tora Tora Tora, which are really converted AT-6's

I don't think our resident customizers have anything to worry about :)

I spotted that the other day in my ceaseless prowling of eBay for 1:18 militaria. I wondered how long it would take before the knives came out here over it!

It did make me wonder how hard it would be to scratch build a Kate. We have a few folks here who could do it ...

You know I think they made some zero trainers . Posssibly for the Navy and target tows with some kind of wire thing around it. Maybe I have know idea what I am talking about.

But if he would have painted it orange made a 2 seater rather than a 3 seater and call it is a trainer it would not have been that bad off.

Actualy they did. Here is what I came up when I googled Japanese Zero trainer. So he blew it .

AGAIN.

This was exactly what I thought it was on first sight. I agree, he could of made a real bundle if he stuck with the trainer.

I've tried to make new aircraft out of existing models. It's very hard. I can't do it, my results were laughable. Even so, what I ended up with is better than this. I thew mine away out of disgust. He'll probably sell his to someone who doesn't know better. Pretty sad, really.

Wow, that's a neat trainer there. 8)

What did you use for the canopy? I thought you’d actually vacuformed the pieces, but, upon closer inspection, they seem to be a little too translucent compared to the BBI original or other vacuformed canopies I've seen in the customs' threads (there’s even a sort of grainy texture in the pics).

Anyway, real cool.

...OMG. If the Zero is a "Coupe", then that thing on ebay is the station wagon version...

what really finishes it is that the aileron horns are still backwards... retains that BBI authenticity
