There is a 'used' RAAF F-18 on Ebay right now.
Brand new listing, and already at $610.
Let's see where this one ends up.
RAAF F-18
G'day Snake
Is this the one?
http://cgi.ebay.com/F-18-bbi-1-18_W0QQi ... otohosting
The picture on the table is of a US version
While the picture with the F-16s in the background is an RAAF one
There does not appear to be anything in the listing that tells which version is actually for sale??

You are right,Spud.
The first picture in the listing clearly shows the RAAF "Checkers".The second head on shot looks to be the Golden Dragons.Good eyes!
I just assumed that if the first photo showed the RAAF,that was the one for sale. You have to look quite closely to see that the headon shot appears to be the Golden Dragons.
Also to add to the intrigue, the seller has just added a third photo which clearly shows the outer box as the Golden Dragons, but that is the standard outer box artwork. No further pictures of the plane.
These buyers clearly think that they are bidding on the RAAF version.
I am going to send the seller a direct question as to which aircraft is for sale.
If it turns out to be the Golden Dragons version,if I was these bidders I would withdraw my bid,due to false advertising.
I do not expect a response before tomorrow morning,as the seller lives in Spain.
I will keep ypu posted.

Seller just emailed me back.
It IS the Golden Dragons!
That is clearly false advertising, and fraud.I would be withdrawing my bid,and lodging a formal complaint with Ebay.
What a scam artist.I hope all the bidders can see the answer to my question on the Ebay site.
If you know anybody that is bidding on this plane, please tell them about this disappointing development.
Should be some penalty for this kind of behaviour!

I have talked to another F-18 collector, who I stay in touch with.
Apparently this is the second time that this seller has tried this stunt.
To see the Ebay listing, see the posting by Spudkopf, earlier in this thread.
You can see how misleading and fraudulent this listing is.
I would like to lodge a complaint with Ebay, against this seller[con artist]
Do I have to be a bidder to file a complaint? What is the best approach to getting punitive action against this seller?
Looking for advice from you guys,as to the best plan of action.
I really want to do something about this!

...and the bids are being cancelled..
I believe I'd take the RAAF pic off that auction, he's only asking for trouble if someone comes in at the last minute and bids withough proper research.
