Well.........That was fast. I don't have either one of those so this news is extra nice. Now if they can role out a 47 or two and a couple 190's were golden.

MTS has the section set up but no items listed yet. For those that want to buy someplace else it looks like they will have something up soon.

AHH I just looked and they have a Tomcat up! No price but it looks great!

Holy crap, that F-14 will be a show stopper. I wonder what else this company has hidden up their sleeve?

This is the great news. The Corsair looks awesome. Hopefully it will look weathered like the pics. Just when we thought things were looking bleak this comes up.

Hope this new corsair will come with a better wing folding mechanism than the POS system on the earlier 21st Corsairs. At least BBI made one that did not break apart after the first try. Ordered one because of the new drop tank design, even though I have an oridingal 21st Pappy. One of each will be enough now, until I see what improvements, if any will come out of this. 21st was great in its day, but as things rolled along, so did the more obvious low QC aspects. Looks like price point will rise, which is OK, if so does the QC. Have all P-38's except Haleakala II, if that comes out, I will probably bite on that one.Have ist issue Putt Putt ad re-issue, so no need for that one. QC will be the tell tale matter if this new offer flies or not. Hope it does, really do. Glad MTS has them up for us who would rather not deal with BCA for one reason or another.

Yep, I gotta get both of them for sure since I missed the boat on the earlier P-38's. Actually, I like this Corsair better than the Bunker Hill I have ... and that's saying alot too! :P

Question...

The original release of the Boyington Corsair from 21st Century Toys had the insignias outlined in red. This release from JSI has them outlined in Navy blue. The profiles I've seen show them as Navy blue as well.

Why the difference?

i doubt the corsair has been retooled in any way. It's just a repaint of the old 21c corsair, so the hinge and drop tanks will probably be the same as before but with a nicer paint job. The picture is probably of a model, painted the way the JSI offering will look.

I've got the original Lucybell.

My guess is that this one will be just like it.

It's logical that the company that actually made these for 21st owns them now.
If they cut out one middleman then they might turn a profit and offer them at a reasonable cost.

As long as the distributors do their jobs well, maybe we might see them at mass retail. I still have my doubts about that, but you never know.

Other than the paint, does Lucybelle differ at all from the previous Corsair releases? I got a Bunker Hill version a couple of months ago from the Monkey but it's still in the box.

I pulled this description from Fox Hole Toys -

Huge 22 inches Long & 27.5 inch wingspan!
Folding wings!!!
Sliding canopy with fully detailed & INCREDIBLE cockpit!
Retractable landing gear with rolling rubber wheels!
Spinning propeller blades!
Removable external drop tank!
Wing-mounted Rockets!
Recessed panel lines!
Working control surfaces!

Foxholetoys announcement sure sounds like the BBI Corsair. It is certainly not out of the realm that JSI could fix up the old 21c Corsair mould, or offer something completely new, but I don't think they will.

I've got my 21c "Lucybell" Corsair and while it may not look as good as the JSI version, it was a limited exclusive from a now defunct company. Thats got to account for something

A BBI mold Lucybelle. Now that would be something to behold. 8)
I would buy one for sure even though I have the 21st one.

The BBI is the nicest and most detailed Corsair.

I was going to give a heads up regarding Small Joes the other day but you beat me to it. They seem to advertise lower prices on 1/18 scale aircraft then many of the other etailers. I am going to order my Corsair and P-38 through Small Joes.
