Indiana Jones Russian Cutter

Post by Razor17019 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 8:03 am

Does anyone have one of these IJ Russian Cutter?

Is it based on a real life Russian piece of military equipment?

Is it worth getting one of these?

Can it be converted to anything????

Let me hear your thoughts on this...

not based on anything real and underscaled even if it were. Piece of junk in my view.

Just thought I would add a picture for those that may have not had a good look at it.

I have owned one for about a day when they first came out and sold it on ebay. I kept the truck and troop car and at the time I didn't see the use for it.

Now that these are at Big Lots for $10. I may pick another up to make something or if nothing else use some of the components from it.

Those rolling teeth could possibly pass for a mine clearing roller.

Never did like it. Doesn't look like anything close to an actual vehicle.

I bought one at Target for $5.00, but i don't know what to do with it. I was hoping it was based on some type of real vehicle. If nothing else i will customize it for my Cobra forces.

Are the tracks movable on this thing or are there just some wheels underneath??

could someone who has this tell me how long the hull is and what the track width is, please?

I figure these will go on deep discount soon and i'd like to know if the tracks will be useful for custom work.

thanks..

If the movie was any good, I'd have one.

It wasn't. So I don't.

When I saw this in stores before the film came out, I assumed there was going to be a big fight/chase/set piece on and around it.

How lame that it was destroyed after about 5 seconds of screen time.

They should have made the duck instead. That I would have bought, movie quality be damned.

Yes I would have bought a duck or two had they been made. I would have rather see them make the trucks instead of the Jungle Cutter.

On a sidenote.....Smalljoes has these knocked down to $9.99.

If I ever run into this for $5 or so, maybe... Otherwise, meh. It's currently the only IJ item I don't own one of, and even completism of the line isn't driving me to own this thing. Hell, I figure at the toy show I'll find one for cheap some day.

Well I went ahead and bought the last one of these at Big Lots today for $10.

It has some potential the Cab is nice with a vinyl drape and window on one side and nicely detailed. A fuel tank at the rear is another nice piece with fuel lines on it. The rollers are not removable so they can't be used to make a mine roller. The plow on the front is removable and would fit nicely on a Sherman Tank. A few removable engine detail pieces.

Measurements of the tracks are:
8 3/4 inches long
4 1/8 inches wide
1 1/4 inches high

Dimesions:
15 3/4 inches from Cutter to rear
6 3/4 inches from lowest to highest point
13 1/4 inches from plow to rear
9 inches length of main frame or chassis above the tracks
4 3/4 inches width of main frame

Hope this helps. I am not sure what at all the frame and tracks may be useful for so hopefully someone convert it over to scale.

The tracks are one solid molded piece with two little wheels underneath that are removable. The whole track section for one side is attached with two small screws. So take the two screws out and you have a complete track section.

Where to find IJ Troop Car

Post by Gen.Gabeally » Sun Mar 29, 2009 7:19 am

Is the IJ troop car close to the actual German one? where do u find one?

My local Big Lots had a couple of Cargo trucks and a bunch of Jungle Cutters but no troop cars!

I was thinking maybe just as a construction jungle cutting vehicle it may work specifically in a jungle mission when you need to set up a base but need to clear some jungle to make the base

I have one and like it ... it has a Tank Girl / Punk Rock / Dreadnok sort of thing going for it. If I can get the new Zarana figure, the jungle cutter will become her ride.

Though I'm curious how this thread resurfaced or thawed from a long cold slumber?

Mulled over this back when they were out a couple years ago. Afterall it was a Russian vehicle of sorts. Never could make myself get it. Just too odd and impractical.
