Post by mediump » Tue Sep 27, 2005 2:32 pm

My WM is drying up! last I checked all they had was 1/32 stuff(playsets, no planes) and 1/6 stuff
maybe I bought all the xd they had
anyway I'm still waiting for the BoB stuff espesially the repaints!!! :D
woulnt mind picking up a 1/32 planes either
anything but 1/6 it's too big and taking up valuable xd space...JK

Mediump, what is a BoB? Please explain, as I see a lot of people using the term

Thanks, and best regards.

It refers to the Battle of the Bulge line of figures and vehicles.

Found the new BotB figures today, looks like only the Germans have new paint jobs; I was kinda hoping the Us figs would be repainted as well.

But, the cool news is the on the cardback the Japanese are depicted in new tan/brown paint schemes!

BOB figures are finally hitting Upstate NY! Found a few at the Auburn store today - looked like they'd already been largely picked over.
Waterloo store had a better selection - picked up one each of the long coat Germans (with the gray helmets) and one each of German tankers in the brown camo and in a solid dark green (anyone else seeing that one?). There were no more of those in evidence. Now I'm on the hunt for more of the German tankers in those paint schemes!

Found a fresh box at the Pontiac, Illinois Walmart. They are packed one of each German tanker, one US tanker, two each of the Germans in overcoats, one BAR gunner, two US infantryman, two US vehicle drivers.

I've seen alot of different stuff trickle in around here just in the past few months. Like re-released 32x "Playsets","new" figure sets. As far as 18x, I have seen some but few and far between. I got lucky just recently and found a re-released "Hanomag" in "dark panzer grey camo". I learned from the toy dept.,assisstant that they just got this in and it was the only one they had in stock. It came with Falschirmjager Corporal "Wenzel". I've since returned and "have not seen another one". You have to jump on this stuff, cause it'll be gone when come back again.

I've also got to add that I've found quite a bit of the stuff that I'd been looking for at Wal-mart that I really did'nt want to get off the "net" unless it's something "extremely rare". I found the 1:18 "grey" Tiger (die-cast) by "New Millineum Toys" reduced to $12.00. I've also seen "new" 32x model kits. At first I would just see the "Sherman w/75" and the Panzer IV-H. Then later I saw the "Mobelwagen" and "Wirbelwind". I found the "Sherman w/75" "new" model kit reduced down to a whopping $2.oo !!

Info from another post indicates that the Patton tank from the Sahara movie will be due out shortly.

WM in Greece NY yesterday had no figures. Did buy an OD M113 for $20.
Already have one each of the OD and desert, but what the heck, why not have a third.

WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!!! :?
Yeah, I was in Jackson MS the other day and found a BUNCH of figures (P51 pilot, ME109 Pilot, Corsair Pilot, BOB figures, Marines etc) and some of the newer tanks APC's on the clearance isle but none of them were marked so I took a couple of figs to to the girl and she scanned them......$4.97 each. That and of course the WM in Oxford MS that had FW190's a few months ago (back at the first of the year) for $14 each still had the same broken 5 190's that they had marked back up to full price.

Anyone have picture of the new repaint BOB Germans? I would like to see what they look like. I have finally got figures at my Wal-Mart. We just got the S2 Marines and some of the armor in. Thanks

Ive only seen restocks of the S2 Marines and the S1 Japanese as far as new figures are concerned at the Wal Marts in my AO. Still, it seems the new BoB figures are an east coast release right now, so I can wait. Then again, I NEVER did see any of the BoB stuff at Wal Mart that was seen elsewhere...

We have new Germans here in SW MO. Each figure has 2 uniform schemes, tropical on one, camo on the other.

The Wally closest to me rarely has any 21C product. Today they had one 1/6 Hummer and six 1/32 planes, a good mix of Me-109, Focke Wolf, P-51, P-47 and P-40. The mix included the P-40 "Captain of the Clouds".

I was impressed, with Wally for carrying the 21C, even though no 1/18, and 21C for the "Captain of the Clouds". 21C timing is a little off. The movie isn't even on TV any more. I hope their timing is better for the "Sahara" line in 1/18

Maybe tropical means like a grass skirt? :) But what kind of top and hat?

Pleasanton, CA has a bunch of 32x planes.

P-40, P-47, ME-262, P-51 (limited edition 5000 qty), ME-109, FW-190s. This is the first I've seen the 32x in person, and they look great. I even thought about buying some ($15 ea., not a bad price), but then I looked up and saw a 1:18 Fw-190 and remembered why I got into collecting 1:18 planes in the first place. 1:18 all the way, baby!

Ahhhhh Come'on Vulgar.. Step over to the darkside, it's not so bad and you'll have lots of other friends to play with...

Seriously, in the last 6 months we have seen over 15 NEW 32x planes released.. My collection went from 1 plane to 15 VERY quickly.. :D
Here is a quick rundown of what's new:

3 Bf-109's, 3 me-262's, 3 P-51's, 2 P-40's, 3 Fw-190D9's, 4 P-47 Thunderbolts..
It has been a VERY good year so far..

I'll tell you, I got very tempted to take that step. And, to be honest, I just might do that if I keep seeing 32x on the shelves! I have a relatively low resistance to any of 21st's stuff since it all looks so good.

And, you'll have a better chance of seeing an F-4 in 32x...

My understanding is that 32x has taken off so well for 21st that many "NEW" planes and other things are in the works.. And when I say new, I mean NEW!!!!! :D  :D
