Buildings for 1:18 scale?

Does anyone Know of a source for buidings that work well with 1:18 scale?
I know of the 21st century items and the Build-a-rama corner ruin. I was hoping for correct sized doll house items etc.
Thanks for any info.

That's a great question. I too would like to find sources for 1:18 regular household items and buildings.
Some of the Playmobil stuff works ok. for example they have a oldworld style/Bavarian(?) house:

It could use a bit of touchup sure. Sadly most of their stuff is too kiddy

Actually with some paint work the Playmobil stuff can be made to look pretty good. I believe some of our members have posted pictures of their custom painted Playmobil structures, like the bavarian house you have pictured, and the results were very nice IMO. There's another outfit called Schleich that sells some different styles of buildings etc. at Toys-r-Us, no idea what the scale is but it looked close enough to 1/18 that it should work well with XD figures and vehicles, but like the Playmobil stuff it will need to be painted.

I think Aferg may have posted that Schleich items would be about 1/20 scale, but useable.
One of our non-US members posted pics of XD figs inside the Schleich Animal hospital. This building's roof comes off and passes nicely has an old French/Vietnam building.
Tankduel and I got some of the Playmobil houses and with the correct touching up, are very useable for XD 1/18 scale structures.

PTE has a command post that you might still be able to find at some Big Lots. It comes with about 6 figures and some great accessories to boot.

Those were out at BLs awhile ago (several years). It's possible you might run across one, but I wouldn't count on it. They were around 30.00 and well worth the cost with all the items that comes with the command post.
I think KayBee Toys or J.C. Penney's sold them also.

Pola G scale. It is a bit underscale, but very detailed and interactive (windows, doors and gates open, swivel etc..). I sent a few of my big ones to some members on here who may have good pics. Some pics of mine don't really do them justice. The piece with Saddam is from a Dusty Trails 6 inch guy. They were on sale for like 3 bucks almost anywhere and were worth it just for the dio piece.

I have used Playmobil buildings also. They are a slightly smaller scale but if you do ETO layouts many of the European cottages are small anyway!
I have found that some 'G' scale buildings work if they are oversized to begin with, such as factories or train terminal or maintainance buildings. Oddball buildings can also work with alot of adaptation like some of the Polly Pocket pieces. They are a bit more modern, but beats glueing many pieces of plastic together. Another that I have picked up and like is the He-Man Castle Grayskull which makes a great background. And of course there is the "Pirates of the Caribbean Isla Cruces Playset" (mill) which is scaled well but is bit toyish and needs some weathering to make it more realistic. Background is backside of Castle Grayskull, truck is old tin german Gama toy truck, cottage is Playmobil with slight repaint. Oh yeh, roadbed is Lemax Pebble Mat.

I have Diggers Pola Factory and Train Buildings and they are really great pieces as his pictures show. The train building fits a Sherman, but the doors are too narrow for a Tiger Tank. But all in all nice items from Pola.

Pola G scale is very nice stuff, the downside is it can be rather expensive, and unless your buying from someone who has already built and painted it, I believe it's all in kit form.

It's a bit better than kit form. Some are painted and you just need to glue the seams of some pieces to connect them.

Not sure what you might be looking for, but I have used the Lil' Bratz High School, with a little work on the top marquee piece. Second pic shows an extra side piece stacked.

And a Spawn Alley playset that I just got. I love all the nooks and crannies on it for all types of 1/18 shots!

Be careful, not all Sylvanian/Calico Critter houses are the same scale. This type works perfectly for 1/18, but others are closer to 1/22 and the doorways are too short. That might not bother some, but it's distracting to me.

PS, house in photo is discontinued and very hard to find.

Actually, my local big lots got a TON of those a couple months ago and many are still there.

So it doesn't hurt to take a look...

Where's a good place to get those Pola G Scale buildings, or really any G-Scale building materials like sheets of brick patterns or whatnot? I love those buildings Digger, very cool... I can't seem to find anything locally to look at it in person though.

I'd love some simple brick buildings, or European (similar to the Farmhouse playset) style building materials.

Gramps, those are great. The first one can be a SWAT bank scene or other hostage scenario. The Spawn alley is a great modern st.

JJ, I got most of mine beat up on ebay. The good thing about that is the train collectors are less interested and they're often built.

A while back, I saw a terrific item on ebay of what appeared to be a bombed war ruin in 1:18th scale.

It wasn't from the XD line, it was being sold as a "build a rama" discontinued ruin and it was 2 or 3 stories tall!

Thing looked terrific, unfortunately I was broke at the time and unable to bid on it.

Never seen anything like that anywhere on the net. And I've been visiting build a rama for years now and they never had it there, either.

But, damn, it was cool.

I remember build-a-rama made a few of these ruined buildings in 1/18 scale as test for the market. They were about 100-200 each?
They were offered on Ebay and not on their site, if memory serves...(which sometimes it does not

That building ended up selling for MUCH less than $160 if memory serves.

The best thing i've found so far is the playmobil 7145 medieval house with barn.

It's not great but not bad and is a good size and overall look. The barn door thingy is the only drawback. It's 12 inches high and 14 inches long and 7 inches deep. It's also open at the back so you can either use it from the front, for dioramas or from the rear for house to house fighting vignettes.

I may get a couple of these and put them side by side and have some troops blasting a hole through the wall to get from one building to the next, as was commonly done by all sides in house to house fighting to avoid being exposed out on the street. Maybe put a couple of snipers in the second floor as well.
