Any Regrets?
What I mean is, is there an item you've either had and then let go of, or an item you didn't buy when you had the chance, and looking back you wish you'd done otherwise?
In my case, I regret selling off my XD Cobra a few years ago. Why on earth did I do that? Such a great piece.
What about you? Is there one particular piece you wish you hadn't sold or traded away, or one particular piece that you didn't buy but wish that you had? Hope this makes sense....

There were about 20 Fw -190s and Hueys all for $15 each. At different times. Also when we went to Talahassee for Katrina. W mart had 6 black Bf 109s for $20. Down from 10 I baught 4 of 'em.B-29 wrote:I wish I bought those fw-190s that lined the shelves of wal-mart. I also wish I would have bought the "easy rider" huey with crew that my local hobby shop had for $55.
But when I went to Puerto Rica a few years back I baught all of there Samantha Peytans.
Oh I almost forgot. There was about 15 snub nose Panzers @$15 each. I did not have any money in my wallet only $10 so I was going to go back when I rememberd 3 days later they were all gone. RATS !!!!
Four for Victory - I passed up the black (Blue) 12 and the common other 190s that were at Walmart when I chose not to do the Four for Victory. Which means that I missed the Tender Terror, too. I missed out on the white Zero and Cripes A Mighty from Bad Cat. I passed on the spinach 109, white and snake Stukas, and Samantha Payton all at Toys R Us stores.
Deals - I could have bought 8 Atlantic Avengers for $25.00 each, I passed on Cobras and hueys that sat on the top shelf at local stores for at least a year, I came down the isle behind a guy that got two Bunker Hill Corsairs for $9.99 each, and I missed the Galland 109 at the local WalMart (regular price).
Even with all that I wish I had, I am very happy with my small air force. I spent a good part of the day today putting decals on various planes and thinking about how fortunate I am for all of the planes I do have.

Regret
I regret purchasing over 100 death star trooper figures in the hopes that I would create a supply shortage so I could sell them at ridiculous prices on eBay and now I'm stuck with all of them because they aren't selling.

Wish I had not sold my Red Devil F-18 to a board member and wish I had begun collecting 1/18 when they were all over WM.

The only regret I have was not picking up the 21st US and German paratroopers when they were available. I tend to be frugal. Other than that, I snapped up what I could...

I regret not buying the Scottie Dog Stuka, the Nightfighter Bf-109, the tropical Bf-109 and the other two FW190s when they were just sitting there collecting dust on Wal Mart shelves. If I only knew then what I know now...
"I can stop collecting 1:18 scale anytime, really I can. OOoh, the new Stuka re-paint! I don't have that one.

I regret not getting the BCA excl. Hill AFB F-16 and one of the Air Guard F-16's. Also the 2 RAAF F-18's. Also when I bought my spinach 109 at a Hungate's back in 02 in NC I wish I would've bought all they had, especially at 39.99!! Would've been smart to have bought about 10 Blue Angels as well... Oh well...

Yep, I have one major regret that haunts me, but also inspired me to never leave anything behind!
A few years ago Target had mis-marked the 1:6 SOW Jeeps to $7.00 each. A buddy and I bought all of them with the exception of two (no room left in our carts)! We are still kicking ourselves for not going back and picking up the other two! Since then, I have run across 1/6 and 1/18 clearance items at WM and have not left any behind!
Lesson Learned!

I regret:
Not buying the original Vietnam figures.
Not buying more of the German paratrooper figures.
Not buying the new BBD Mustang at WM for $25. because the box was messed up.
Not buying the structures ie hay barn etc.
Not buying more KubelWagons when they were available.
Taking my first PZIV back becuase I thought the S2 might have a nicer camo.

Hmm... regrets...
Well, if there was any regret, it would be that over the years I've spent so much darn money on all this junk I mean, when you have a box full of figures and think that each one cost $5, then you have nearly 30 aircraft and think that each of those cost on average between $40 and $60, and you have a bunch of armored vehicles that cost between $20 and $50, one comes to realize how much money got tied up with this hobby and could have been put to better uses. It has all been fun, though
On a more positive note, I've gotten the repaints of the planes that I want, including hard-to-find ones such as the Spitfire and FW-190D9, so there are really no regrets about something I left behind. I guess a regret would have been to have picked up more FW-190s and Spitfires when they had been rotting on my local Wal Mart shelves and sold them at some future date. However, at the time, who would have though the 21c FW-190D9 would ever have been worth anything
