My first was the S1 Mustang at TRU. I don't even remember seeing or being interested in any XD till then, but I was hooked after that.
I was buying tons of 1/6 scale figures, hardware and vehicles at the time.

My first 1:18 among the big 5 companies (21st Century Toys, BBi, Admiral, F.O.V. and Peguses) was the BBi Lav-25 for my Joes to display in 2002. I was not going to buy the 21st WWII stuff at first. My first 21st C was the AH-1 Super Cobra. Soon, I have purchased everything once I got my hands on the WC-51 and WWII. Now I have just about everything minus the BBI S.W.A.T. stuff.

1/18 Command Car given to me as a BDay present by my son. He found it in TRU and he thought I'd get a kick out of it as we had a 1/1 WC-56 when he was kid and both my boys learned to drive on it as soon as they were big enough to reach the pedals.
Good memories and little did he know what he started.

My first XD was a lone german soldier that I so named Kurtis Von Wolf. The wifeypoo had already had the P-51 put away for me for christmas and I got the Messerschmidt, after that it was all a blur. Now years later hundreds of soldiers, planes, tanks, etc. and still addicted.

My first XD was the S1 P-51 Mustang, "Lou IV." I just about fell head-over-heels when I saw it at TRU back in October of 2000. My second piece was the S1 Me-109E. I didn't get any of the S1 figures and vehicles until much later. Then I collected the Vietnam stuff, then the S2 WWII vehicles, then the first Wal Mart items (that I could find) and well, it all went from there
Oddly enough, I was actually very selective the first few years XD products were out. There were some things I purchased - namely aircraft - and others I did not, like the ground vehicles. I only got the Jeep, Kubelwagen, and Panther from ebay years after they were out at TRU. It was sort of the same story with the S1 figures, though I did purchase a few that were on clearance to crew my Tiger and M-41 when those tanks first came out. I did not get any of the smaller Vietnam vehicles until years after the fact and did not get many of those figures, either. I did not get any of the Fallschrimjager figures when out at TRU and got my S1 paratroopers mostly from small retailers.
Really, I have collected the most indiscriminately during the 21c product boom that lasted from 2004 to 2007.
