R-2800 double wasp in 1/18 scale
Whenever I make a resin pour , any extra I have left I pour into other molds. I have a lot of radial halves from pouring my P-36. Would anybody be interested in a R-2800 double wasp engine? It should not be that hard to replicate. They were used in the Corsair , Thunderbolt and Hellcat.

The BBi has the most detail. It has the hub, collector ring , pushrods and 2 rows of cylinders but the cylinders are cut in half . You see only the face. The 21st is a lot more simple. All you see is the hub and cylinder front. I was thinking of doing the prop shaft, hub , collective ring , push rods both full cylinder rows , gear box in back and possibley the motor mount.aae83 wrote:One question, though: if they were used in the planes you listed, has the R-2800 already been "done?" Not that I particularly want to hack apart a plane to get to it...
Simply Put, YES!
I have been looking all over for a radial engine for display for weeks now to no luck. I would be willing to get one for sure.
Matter fact I haven't logged in on this site in forever but had to when I seen this post, thats how interested I am in it. Judging but the custom work you have posted on here I am sure it would be top notch as well.
